I adore Katy Regnery and her writing so I got cozy on the lounge with a cup of tea and dove into this story only to literally choke on my cup of tea when I burst into laughter 2 seconds later. At which point I tried to explain to hubby what garnered that reaction. (he still doesn't get it but oh well it made my day because that was hot and damn yes that escalated quickly) So as you no doubt guessed this started with a bang and I felt a great connection to Amanda and the story. And the further in I got the more I was dying to see how Amanda and Luke were going to sort out their issues and start a life together. Their problems were such normal, every day issues that are faced by mature people. And I liked that the story was so incredibly realistic and relatable even though it's nothing I have ever been through. All of the characters felt so genuine. I just felt Amanda maybe planned things a little rashly without any input from Luke who really had a lot more to consider. And the ending felt a little rushed. But I guess we got our hea and everyone was happy, so I should probably get over it. I loved the epilogue and I was happy with how it played out. I just would have preferred to take the more scenic route. Oh well the blurbs for the rest of the series sound great so I will be on GoodReads stalking them if you need me.

We are able to travel, work and experience so much away from where we were born and raised. It gives us the ability to see what we like and what we don't and these personal experiences guide us to where we end up living. Now where we live also impacts who we meet and love. We can only interact with those around us...well, that was the way, but now with traveling at the drop of a hat and the internet dating sites, location means nothing. These factors are part of the driving force of Single in Sitka by Katy Regnery. Amanda and her writing partner are due to present the subject for their next column for the Seattle Sentinal. Amanda should have had it all figured out but instead, she has been dreaming about a posting by a faceless man called Luke. It was in a rag called Odds Are Good that has the idea of Alaskan single men looking for women who are part of the lower 48. It is known to use hunky mountain men pictures to lure women to come to the far-away state. This particular ad has caused Amanda to fantasize about this widower with three kids who doesn't want to play games and sounds so good. Sigh... Now she has to come up with a pitch...and remembers there is also a bear issue in the same city where mythical Luke lives, Sitka. The next thing Amanda knows, she is on a plane off to investigate the bears and maybe find this Luke. Luke has been handling what life took away from him. He had a beautiful wife, adorable kids and a path he was comfortable with. In a flash of a moment, his wife was taken in a horrible car accident. He had to hold it together for the three little kids he had and over time these children and father became a team. Luke was lucky to have his sister to help him and now as the children are older, they have tried not to ask for too much help, only when necessary. But Luke's sister cares dearly for her brother and wants him to get out there and start to live again... to be more than a father and state trooper. He needs to be the man who loves another for himself and for his kid. Luke has told her no, no fix-ups please and so far he has held her off. Amanda has already dug into her bear project and is trying to get back to where she is staying. Unfortunately, she is walking in the rain and it is not the romantic thing movies make it out to be... Bloody Blisters... Hard Drenching Rain... And serious tears finally coming from a breakup she thought she was over...The surprise and frustration of years gone by wasted...those were the tears that hurt the most... Luke doing his job, sees a woman walking on the side of the road in the pouring rainstorm. He pulls over and with much coaxing gets her into the car. She is suspicious like a city person would be... He is shocked that he is seeing her as a woman...one he would be interested in knowing... But the conversation takes a turn and ends sharply. These two have a story to be told and it is so worth the time. Luke and his children are a wonder. Amanda is strong, sometimes a bit impulsive...but overall a very positive person and the two together are a fine fit. There are smexy times to enjoy and the children are distinct and not a throw-away thought. Friends, family and the towns and cities are all part of this tale. I thoroughly enjoyed this and plowed right through it. This is the start of a series of individual stories. I can see the draw to all of them and each will be released about a month apart. There are plenty of sexy, steamy moments, however there are plenty of times with raw, gutwrenching emotion that will tug at your heartstrings. Ms Regnery had me right in Sitka and in Seattle with her writing, such beautiful imagery that I could almost reach out and tough the Puget Sound - sigh.... I want to go back to Seattle so bad. Single In Sitka is an utterly enjoyable story, and I am looking forward to more of the Odds Are Good series.

A book that can charm a reader from beginning to end is a definite winner in my eyes and Single in Sitka is this exactly. I have read a few of the authors novels in the past- mostly her darker fairytale retellings- and wasn't sure how I would rate the sweeter sides of her romances in comparison, but I have to say I think I prefer these ones. Single in Sitka is an adorable novel with characters who can easily become your best friends. While I did find the way they met to be a bit unrealistic, it truly didn't matter to me because these characters stole my heart. If you're looking for a sweet romance, one that you can easily devour in a day then you won't want to miss this one! I absolutely cannot wait for the second standalone to be released on November 4th. More about the book: Single in Sitka is a complete standalone in the series. Each book features a different couple. They aren't even interconnected from what I can tell! I love this. You can read them in any order you like. Anyway... This is a single dad contemporary romance novel. Part of the book takes place in Sitka, Alaska and the other part in Seattle, Washington. The hero of the story is single dad of three children, Luke Kingston. Luke lost his wife two years ago and is finally ready to start seeing other people- as long as there are no strings attached! At first he had no intention of dating anyone, but when a reporter from Seattle answers the dating add his sister put up for him he decides to take a chance. Meet Amanda. She's a reporter from Seattle and got dragged into writing a story about the bear problems in Sitka, Alaska. Having to go there for work she ends up meeting a hunk of a man named Luke. And Luke is THE MAN she has been fantasying about from the dating ad. How can these two people whose only intention of a no strings sexual relationship going to fare when it comes to true love? Well, if you chose to read Single in Sitka you will most definitely find out! As I mentioned, this is a sweet, charming, and adorable romance with genuine characters and a whole lot of romance and love. I love how Katy wrote this story and I look forward to reading all the other books in the series that releases after this one! I recommend it! 4 1/2 "Single Dad 💙" Stars! I really liked this one a lot. I love the single parent trope. Especially when the kids are really present in the story. Luke was a sweet sexy single dad. Amanda was a sweet smart sassy lady; and a good friend. Great kids. They had to negotiate some particulars. Find their way around a few obstacles to fully get to happy. This one made me smile. I admit, it was rather sappy. Happy reading!

Wow. All I can say is wow. I love everything that Katy writes. She has this way of pulling you into a story and captivating you to that very last page. This story started out as fun and flirty with insta chemistry and lots of sensual moments but turned into so much more of a story. It was real with raw emotion and love. It’s the best kind of romance; the one that pulls true emotion from you, pulling on the heartstrings and making you feel. I’m a sucker for emotional stories.

Amazing Author Another winner by Katy Regnery! This story had lots of love and friendship and a single dad with 3 kids. A 2 week working holiday (funny how that came about) and a set up with family and these 2 can’t get enough of each other. Long distance relationships are hard, but love will work it out. Liked it a lot.

This book contains it all; sizzling heat between a sexy, single dad and a work-driven journalist. Heart pounding, emotional moments ranging from tears to anxiety to deep swooning. Along with fabulous secondary characters that enrich the story. Single in Sitka is a book you don't want to miss in 2019! Amanda finds an ad in the Odds Are Good online dating magazine describing Luke; a single guy in Alaska looking for love. She's never been to Alaska, but she is picturing a hunky man who can fulfill her nightly fantasies better than her cheating ex ever could. When she's pressed to fulfill a deadline for where she works, her writing partner throws out the idea of saving the bears in Alaska thus giving her the opportunity to find her hunky soulmate. Unable to turn down a writing assignment...Amanda suddenly finds herself in Alaska with the ability to look up Luke; Mr. Single and hopefully hunky, dreamy Luke. When in Alaska and all that. Luckily Luke is actually who he says he is, BUT he didn't place the ad, his sister did. Nothing like a bit of awkward to start things off. You see, the reason Luke is single, his wife passed away two years ago and his sister feels it's time to get back on the proverbial horse. She's worried about him. While she takes his kids for the weekend, he meets Amanda and they do hit it off, but decide on a no-strings, just fun agreement. Perfect. She's only in town for two weeks as it is. Things are great until they both get attached and two weeks aren't nearly enough. What do you do when the person you're falling for lives 800 miles away? How do people make these long distance relationships work? Should they just chalk it up as a fling and move on? There are so many variables and moving parts when it comes to falling in love as a single father. Luke as an AH HA moment when he realized that when he fell in love with his wife it was just the two of them and he could devote all of his attention to just her. Now, even if he wanted to spend every waking hour with Amanda he couldn't. He had responsibilities, not that he would trade them for the world, he loved his kids, but this time around it was just different which meant he had to do things differently. I love these kind of intricate details that seem so minute, but add so much flavor Single in Sitka is such a great story and even though it is a complete standalone I can't wait to return to Alaska and see what Katy has in store for us next.

He’s a single dad who is looking for some fun himself, and just what Amanda needs to get over her cheating ex. What could go wrong with a little no-strings-attached fun that has an end date? Find out in Single in Sitka! Amanda answers Luke’s “Single in Sitka” ad and meets up with him in a local hotel bar. The attraction is immediate and their want is palpable. Amanda isn’t looking for anything serious and Luke is only trying to get out after losing his wife so they settle for causal fun during the time she is in town. And fun they have! They fit so well together, and even though they have different experiences with relationships it feels like they are on the same page. I believed the chemistry, connection, and feels. I could see them growing closer and I knew that hearts would be involved. They are both good people who are genuinely nice and they couldn’t help but fall for each other. Luke is such a great dad and cares what his children think. He isn’t ready to dive into anything serious and I totally understood his conflict when his feelings start to strengthen. Amanda was hurt and needs a rebound but she never imagined falling for a single father in Alaska. She’s enjoying their fun but she finds herself wanting more when she gets to know Luke better. I kiss him like I would if he belonged to me and I belonged to him, and when he draws away, he looks into my eyes with such vulnerability, such naked sincerity, it almost makes me cry. I loved Amanda and Luke together and I was rooting hard for a happily-ever-after. When Amanda heads back to Seattle at the end of her two week visit, it is heartbreaking. I wanted them to be together and I know they are what the other needs even if it’s hard to take a chance. I was excited to see them reconnect and their reunion is sweet and sexy. I loved that they find ways to spend time together, and not just the two of them.  The kids are an important part to the story and I loved that Amanda loved them too. The long distance takes a toll on them and they have a lot to work through if they want a future together. Even with the bumps along the way, in the end, Luke and Amanda know what they want and I love that they were willing to fight for their love. Overall, Single in Sitka is a sweet, steamy, heartwarming romance. It’s a great start to the Odds-Are-Good series and I can’t wait to get back to Alaska for more love stories that stem from personal ads in The Odds Are Good magazine! 4 stars! *ARC generously provided by Buoni Amici Press in exchange for an honest review*

For just a short time together, they quickly realized their connection was much stronger than they anticipated. But they still had obstacles. This story was beautiful. It touched on topics of second chances after a loss/breakup as well as a long distance relationship. How hard were these characters willing to hold on to what they had? How far were they willing to go to make it work? To watch these amazing characters work through their fears and give in to their emotions...it was an emotional journey I enjoyed. Every step of the way. Single in Sitka was a great start to this new series and I’m excited for what comes next.

Luke isn’t sure how to start dating again, nor is he certain he is ready to take that step. His sister, however, is prepared to give him just the push she is confident he needs. Taking a chance to meet one of the women who has answered his ad finds him sitting across from Amanda, a woman he met earlier in entirely different circumstances. Now he can sense something he didn’t allow himself to think about when they met - the possibility of some fun as he learns how to date again. I loved the way these two challenged each other. What was supposed to be a no-strings fling quickly turns to more as Amanda ingratiates herself with Luke’s kids and family. She makes Luke face what exactly he is feeling towards moving into a life without his late wife, and how he feels about Amanda specifically. This is not a completely smooth transition though. As cute as Luke’s kids are, and as helpful as his oldest is, they are still kids who are grieving the loss of their mother and the first woman who looks like may be trying to take her place is a hard connection to make, especially for the older kids. I loved the way Amanda held her own, but still let the kids own their feelings and work through things in their own time. Luke, too, still has some healing to do even as he thinks he is ready to move on. This was a sweet, single dad story with elements that made it feel realistic and down to earth. The characters face the challenges a grieving family would, as well as a long distance relationship. Part of me felt like the ending was wrapped up faster than I would have liked in a bit of a high handed way, but in the end I loved where the characters ended up. I look forward to more from this series based on singles ads placed in an Alaskan paper marketed to the continental 48. It should be interesting to see how the other outlined situations play out as mainlanders make their way into the far northern state.

So now she is heading to Sitka, Alaska to do research and if she gets to meet the man from the ad then it is just a bonus. Luke Kingston is a widowed father of three and busy with his job. He is overwhelmed and has grieved his wife, and his sister is pushing him to try to start dating again. He is a small-town man and is dependable, protective, and a genuinely nice guy. Meeting Amanda brings out more of his spontaneity, passion, and brings him back to life. But they are just supposed to be a quick no-strings rebound fling while she is on assignment. No matter if one of them catches feelings or wants more, there are several blockades in their way. And one of them seems insurmountable. This is a realistic, fun, sexy, and sweet single dad long-distance love story with a lot of heart. I loved the added dynamics of his children and the facets of their relationships with them. The characters are likable. Amanda and Luke had great chemistry and really got under each other's skin. But sometimes life is just complicated. I enjoyed the fact that they act like mature adults and there is not a lot of unnecessary miscommunication angst. But of course, there has to be some conflict and drama. My heart hurt for them because circumstances seemed to be against them, and I just hoped there was some way to make it work. I am looking forward to more in this series centered around ads in the Odds Are Good magazine. Follow Me: Reviews by Tammy & Kim (Rachel and Jay) | Facebook | Twitter

4.5 stars It’s my second book by the author and I knew that I’ll be in for a big ride. I love that the story is more contemporary and deals with second chance at love for two characters with a different past but are looking forward to make the most of their life and fulfil that empty space in their hearts that needs more attention than anything else. I loved their banter, their intimate moments were great and the feelings and emotions were real and somehow, the author managed to touch my heart a 4.5 stars It’s my second book by the author and I knew that I’ll be in for a big ride. I fell in love with this book right from chapter one. It was fun and cute but it also really introduced who Amanda is, where she’s at and where she wants to be going. It starts with a personal ad from a single dad in Alaska looking for a special someone. Amanda’s imagination goes wild and when she ends up working in Alaska she finds her imagination hardly does Luke justice. Luke is actually NOT looking for love. He is taking one day at a time trying to be the best dad to his three young children I fell in love with this book right from chapter one. He is taking one day at a time trying to be the best dad to his three young children since the sudden death of his wife. But Luke’s sister thinks it’s time he moves on, hence the singles ad. The story is sweet and funny. It is light on angst but delivers with all the emotions and feels. It’s a book I’ll recommend to all my friends and will definitely be one that I’ll reread over and over! -5 Stars!!-

This read is the perfect blend of fun, sexy and flirty with sultry, raw and emotional! Even the imagery in the story was spot on and took me back to a place I have fond memories of. A beautiful, sweet, sexy romance that has you swooning hard. Amanda reads a ad in a newspaper and is overwhelm for a guy named Luke. Amanda ends up going to Alaska to meet him and report for her job. Luke’s sister put a ad up in the newspaper but he doesn’t think he’s ready to date until he meets Amanda and things start to get complicated. Amazing romance that had me smiling and gives ya a sweet tooth while reading! 5/5 stars

Sometimes all we need is someone to help us find the good in ourselves. We know it’s there, but we end up getting so buried by life, we forget to live. A city girl and a woodsy man. Two adults finding a way to make life and love work. This story was funny, sexy and the characters were just great. The chemistry was amazing, the relationship was mature and drama free! Who doesn’t love that? I binged read Katy a while ago, becoming a major fan. She has not disappointed yet!

This book started out hilarious and quickly turned into a whole lot more. I instantly loved Amanda who was fun, sweet and full of life. She’s what really pulled me into the story. But Luke? He’s who hooked me deep. He was more than just your average hot single dad hero. The man has real honest emotion and cared not only about his happiness but also Amanda and his children’s. Luke and Amanda are very sweet. I loved how thoughtfully Regnery wrote of the true obstacles a widowed dad of 3 in Alaska and a single gal in Seattle would face in real life and all the love and hardwork they put in to get their HEA. Their love story was very touching and the epilogue was perfect, though perhaps the book had a few too many sex scenes ;)

I love everything about this book. Amanda & Luke are absolutely perfect together. Every minute that they are together I couldn’t get enough and of course I couldn’t put my kindle down. Truly an amazing read with amazing characters that I won’t forget.
