So so. Bizzy was too rude most of the time, and the way she treated the detective was annoying. Her friends, their intrusiveness, and her sister's overt man-hunting made the book unpleasant to read. The mayor didn't help. So-so mystery I should have known better than to fall for a punny title! Not an interesting or clever mystery. It wasn't particularly funny either. Bizzy was always contradicting herself and the "stay out of my investigation" with Jasper got repeated way too many times. The mind reading wasn't integral to the plot either. The book was readable so 3 stars.

A delightful new series I love Addison Moore and her books, so I knew this new series was going to be a hit and I was right! Bizzy runs an inn with her best friend, has an arch nemesis and plays back and forth with the new handsome detective. The characters were all great, her family is hilarious and I love that we get the thoughts of the animals.

Fish and Sherlock Bones to the rescue This was a lot of fun. Bizzy’s ability was quirky and added a touch of humour to some situations. The murder was okay. Nothing terribly interesting, thankfully the characters made up for that. 3 stars ⭐️

Is the ability to read minds a blessing or a curse? Bringing a twist to a new romantic cozy mystery series. Rescued from the clutches of death by drowning by a handsome stranger. Be still my heart. The story’s heroine, Bizzy Baker, later learns her hero is none other than the new detective in town, Jasper Wilder. An exciting way to begin a new series, wouldn’t you say? Bringing a twist to a new romantic cozy mystery series. Rescued from the clutches of death by drowning by a handsome stranger. Be still my heart. The story’s heroine, Bizzy Baker, later learns her hero is none other than the new detective in town, Jasper Wilder. An exciting way to begin a new series, wouldn’t you say? Bizzy soon learns the handsome hero/detective is renting one of the cottages she manages. In fact, Jasper has taken up residence in the cottage just in front of hers. There are so many colorful characters introduced in this story that I hope will become regulars in the series. I especially love the animal characters, and they are quite the characters. Bizzy’s feline fur-baby is a black and white tabby named, “Fish”. Jasper’s canine companion is a freckled mixed breed named, “Sherlock Bones”. Fish and Sherlock Bones are great together. Watch out Bizzy and Jasper, your fur-babies could very well steal the show! Bizzy manages more than 30 cottages and an inn housing a café with outdoor seating reaching out to the beach, which incidentally provides the small town with scrumptious bakery items. Bizzy’s BFF, Emmie, creates the sweet confections offered in the café. Bizzy’s surname is Baker; however, a baker she is not. It is a running joke that Bizzy is such a bad baker, that she has been known to both over and undercook a dessert at the same time. Oh yeah, I shouldn’t neglect to mention that Bizzy can hear the thoughts of animals. Most of the time Bizzy can hear the thoughts of people… unless it turns R-Rated and then she only hears static white noise. Bizzy is catering a huge event on the beach next to the inn when she stumbles across a stabbing victim which turns out to be one of her employees. She feels the need to solve the murder of her employee, especially since it happened on her watch. Will the thoughts she can pick up help solve the crime? No spoilers given here. You will need to read the book to find out. This book was an entertaining, clean, fun, and easy read. If you enjoy reading a good whodunit mystery with a little romance thrown in for fun, then I highly recommend this book to you. Recipe included: Country Cottage Café Apple Walnut Cinnamon Rolls

This could have been a much better story if the main character's behavior hadn't been way beyond annoying. A total attention grabber!! What I prize most in a book is if it grabs my attention right from the very first paragraph. This book didn't disappoint and held me all the way to the end. Great way to start a series! It had fantastic characters and the story line was extremely interesting with some great twists and turns. Love the kitten, Fish, and Sherlock, the dog. This series is now definitely on my reading list.

I loved picking up Addison Moore’s Murder In The Mix Series, so when I saw the title of this book I was just as excited to see what this new series would bring and yet again Addison has done an incredible job. I found myself laughing most of the time through the book because some of the events that Addison writes in this book are pretty entertaining and this would be one of those books you’d pick up just for the pure entertainment of Sherlock (the dog) and Fish (the cat)…. But honestly, I do love Bizzy, she is just an amazing character and I could see that she was completely different to Lottie (from Murder In The Mix), but still had a few of the same characteristics. This book had a completely different vibe and I loved getting lost in the world of Bizzy, everyone in life thrives to do well in one thing and whilst Bizzy has never truly found her passion, she’s taken her job at managing the inn really well and you can see that whilst this isn’t exactly her true passion like baking could be (if only she didn’t burn everything she tried to do), but she is also extremely creative. Overall, Addison and Bellamy both did an amazing job and I can’t fault this story at all, if anything I’m super excited to carry on as I would love to see how things turn out for Bizzy and her charming new man…. Bizzy has been managing the Country Cottage Inn for quite a while and is doing an amazing job at it, what could be better than not having to worry about her job, having her best friend work and live in the same establishment and having a loving caring family quite close by… The only thing missing from her life is a man of her own, don’t get her wrong she’s got Fish to keep her company and adores him like crazy, but it does get lonely…. But she’s not looking for love, she’s just getting on with her life and doing what she does best…. And that’s trying not to pry into people’s minds…. But when she discovers a charming, handsome new man (who many presume is a Vampire) what will become of things? And her secret of reading minds, how will that go when it comes to her stumbling upon a body???

Sweet, Stubborn, and mystery Love triangle doesn't even cover a few of the relationships and sinfully slow describes the most important one. What happens when the good girl to busy for life outside her inn jumps headfirst into an investigation she's been asked to stay away from by an impressive and hands-on detective? Now I really want book 2!!!!!

Bizzy Baker isn’t just your average quirky innkeeper, she’s got mind reading and her new kitty, a clever feline named Fish by her side. Bizzy Baker loves her staff, so naturally when one member is found dead on her grounds, she’s got her inner-detective on, and claws out for justice. No one can solve this quicker than Bizzy. I think even the handsome detective staying at one of her cottage houses knows that as well. However, Detective Jasper Wilder wants her out of his case and quit snooping. Stay tuned for this mind-reading innkeeper mystery. You are going to laugh, smile, and thoroughly enjoy this book. Any fans of her Murder in the Mix series starring Lottie Lemon will get a hoot off this new series. Happy reading! Love Addison Moore and definitely liking her partner Bellamy Bloom too!

However, I'm so thrilled I went with my gut and took the chance on reading it. The story and characters are so amazing. It's unique and original in it's own right. It kept me interested from beginning to end. Obviously, seeing as I downloaded the book at midnight and here it is, 5 am, and I'm already finished with it. I really enjoyed this first step into the new town of Cider Cove and I look forward to the next in book 2, Dog Days of Murder. Well done to both authors, Addison Moore and Bellamy Bloom.
