When Scrooge comes to destroy the livelihood of Harmony Harbor's Christmas angel, well you know that sparks are going to fly - but will the be from anger or from attraction? It was great seeing characters from the other books make an appearance, and there is a character that has been a big part of the story - well, let me just say I liked where their story went in this book. I read this book in one afternoon, and now I am waiting for what Ms Mason brings us next.

I have so many feelings about this book that I'm afraid I won't do this review justice. I know that sounds kinda crazy but that's how I feel. I started writing this review in my head and I have to tell you, it was good! Unfortunately, I never remember totally what I was thinking so you're stuck with what I do remember wanting to say. If you follow Debbie Mason than you know that Christmas in Harmony Harbor is the last book in that series. With Mason, you can't really say it's over because she sometimes likes to throw a novella into the series at a later time. Wishful thinking! For those of us who have been reading this series, we've been waiting for this book. We all knew that everything was going to come to a head and all would be revealed. I've been both waitings for this and dreading it. I love this series and hate that it's ending. Of course, she's starting a new one so I'm pretty happy about that. But for now, let's deal with Christmas in Harmony Harbor. I think that so much happens in this book that your mind is going to explode. The good thing is that the author handles it all well and keeps the story moving at a great pace. I totally love Caine. I feel so bad for him and all he has gone through. I'm surprised he hasn't made himself sick with all the conflict. He truly is a good guy who really wants to make those he loves happy. The funny part is when you fall under the umbrella of those he cares for he tries to move heaven and earth for you. I also like Evie. I think she worked really hard to keep a family memory alive that meant something to her. She has her own family issues that aren't always the best. Because I could go on and on about this book I'm going to try my best to start ending this review. Feel free to post to my Facebook page after I share this review if you want to talk more. I try never to give out spoilers in reviews. As a whole, this is a wonderful story that I really enjoyed. I totally loved Caine's uncle and thought he was so sweet. There are things at the end that I was totally unhappy about and I also felt it was slightly rushed but that could have been men because I wasn't ready for the story to end. You'll have to judge the ending on your own. I was also happy that our family ghost got her happy-ever-after. You'll love how she does. I'm so glad that I invested the time in this wonderful series and I'm going to miss them all. Do yourself a favor and pick up the series and get reading. You'll be happy! This is perfect for small-town readers. Goodbye Harmony Harbor, you will be missed! Not exactly a page-turner but a good story to read. Wasn't overwhelmed. I guess I've watched too many HC movies and I'm not too impressed with them at all. Like someone said on FB -- 600 movies - 15 actors - 2 screenwriters - 2 locations and so on.

A Perfect Hallmark Christmas kind of book This book is the perfect mash up of A Christmas Carol and It's a Wonderful Life. I can't put it any better than that. Throw some sexy romance into it, and you have this book. It was beautifully sweet, and I look forward to reading more and more in the Harmony Harbor series!

Today's review will not be much different. Lol.  I really, really disliked Caine Elliot for more than half of this book and most of the last book. He was, quite frankly, a big old jerk and so focused on money and pleasing his grandmother that he was simply not a nice person. Knowing that I always end up loving Debbie's heroes, I was hopeful but I was pretty worried this time around. There was a point in the book where, even when we started to see the sweet, caring side of Caine, that I still didn't like the way he was helping Evie be aggressive and confident in herself. However, after all was said and done...shocker...I am fully and completely in love with Caine Elliot and everything he did for Evie and the Gallagher family.  Now that we've gotten past my familiar ranting I need to discuss the rest of this book. I'm feeling both extremely satisfied and extremely sad because this is the end of this series. I'm so sad to see it all come to and end but I cannot describe how much I love how everything wrapped up. My favorite thing about this series is how, with each new book, a new piece of the puzzle that is the Gallagher family/manor mystery was revealed. At times, it was hard to keep up with all of the characters and how they fit in but seeing so many questions answered with the actual in person visit from Emily and knowing her true motivations for all of the trouble she gave the Gallaghers was perfection. It's hard to feel sorry for her after knowing everything she put, not only them, but her own grandson through and I can't say that I'm sad to see how she got her comeuppance.  For all the grief I give Debbie Mason and her characters, she writes the most amazing stories that suck me in every time!! Her world-building goes above and beyond and clearly she's an expert at character development. I cannot wait to see what comes next!!

Christmas in Harmony Harbor is the ninth book in the Harmony Harbor series and although there is a lot of history in this story, I did not feel lost at all. It was a splendid enemies-to-lovers romance that had two characters at odds with each other despite the growing attraction that was developing between them. Over the past year, Evangeline Christmas had been fighting having her property and business, which had been in her family for over a century, taken over by Wicklow Developments. With how much resistance she put up, and believe me there was plenty, and with how much money she was costing him, Caine Elliot should have given up on his idea but, unfortunately, he was committed to building an office tower in Harmony Harbor. What Caine had planned would indeed bring a ton of business to Harmony Harbor but his motivation for the development was truly not economical. He was committed to following through on this deal for the sake of his dying grandmother whose motivation was one of revenge. Caine had been doing his best to get the deal done but his grandmother was one who was willing to bend any rules if the end served her purpose and he did not want anyone hurt in the process. It was because of his fear of what levels his grandmother would stoop to that Caine made a trip to Harmony Harbor to try and reason with Evangeline in person to get the deal done. What Caine hadn’t been expecting was to meet as much resistance as he did. He knew that Evangeline was not going to make finalizing the business transaction easy for him but he had not considered how far she would take things or how much local support she had. For many reasons, but trying to get the job done being the foremost idea, Caine agreed to a fulfill three Angel Tree wishes from Evangeline’s tree at her store. He figured he’d garner some good will with the locals and win a bet fair and square in order to move forward with the project. What Caine had never anticipated was that he would enjoy his time in Harmony Harbor or that spending time with Evangeline would change his heart in more ways than one. I found Christmas in Harmony Harbor to be utterly charming! I was very excited that it had all the wonder of a holiday story but loved that it also had elements of a saucy romance, mystery, suspense, and the paranormal! All that just made this book that much better! I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading this story and was thrilled with how genuine the characters were. I liked most of them, ha ha ha, there were the antagonists in this story and of them I was not a fan. They were plenty naughty but despite having no love for certain characters, all of the characters in this story were memorable and added much to the plot. Overall, Christmas in Harmony Harbor is the perfect read for cold winter nights when you want to get lost between the covers of a good book! This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Forever. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

I haven’t read a Christmas based romance that I didn’t like. Reading about two people falling in love during the most magical time of the year always gets me misty-eyed. So, when I saw that Debbie Mason had written another book in her Harmony Harbor series, I couldn’t wait to read it!! I loved the plotline of Christmas in Harmony Harbor. It was fast-paced and well written. There was a spot in the book where it lagged. But the author was able to get the book back on track. The storyline of Christmas in Harmony Harbor was interesting. It was a mixture of A Christmas Carol and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. It reminded me of A Christmas Carol because of the journey that Caine took during the time he was with Evie. Each task he had to complete had him reflecting on his past, present, and future. It reminded me of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas because Caine’s heart grew three sizes too large towards the end of the book. I was surprised to find out that Christmas in Harmony Harbor was going to be the last book in the Harmony Harbor series. That upset me because I didn’t want the series to end. Hopefully, the author will start a new series that features a least some of the unattached characters (thinking Clio here). That way, I can catch up on what the characters in this series have been doing. Christmas in Harmony Harbor can be read as a standalone book. But, considering the intertwining storylines, I would read the previous books. I wish I did because some plotlines were mentioned that had me going, “Huh?” I loved Evie, but she was a hot mess. She was trying to save her family business and disrupt Caine’s plans for her house. But, she did make me laugh during the book. I thought her idea to win Caine over by using the Angel Tree was perfect. I also liked how she saw the best in everyone/thing. Like her shop. It was a rat, and mice-infested mess, yet she loved it. I didn’t like Caine for the first half of the book. He was hellbent on getting revenge on the Gallaghers on behalf of his grandmother. But then he met Evie, and he started to thaw. He agreed to 3 wishes from the Angel Tree. It was after that scene that I began to like him. But, I wish that he stood up to his grandmother sooner. Caine and Evie’s romance was cute. They weren’t expecting to develop feelings for each other. Caine viewed Evie as a PITA, and Evie thought Caine was the second coming of Satan. But I saw that spark. The minute that Caine went into the basement and faced down rats, I knew it. I loved it, even though it was Instalove. I thought that the secondary characters made this book. Caine’s grandmother, GG, Seamus, Evie’s mother, and all of the characters from the previous book added depth to the story. My favorite was Seamus. I had this mental picture of this barrel-chested, handsome Irishman helping his nephew. My least favorite was Caine’s grandmother. Up until the end, she insisted on doing things that harmed everyone. I also couldn’t get past what she told and do to Caine. I did a mental “WTF” when that came out. The end of Christmas in Harmony Harbor was bittersweet. I liked it because I got to see Caine and Evie’s HEA. But I was sad because the author is ending the series.

Yes the bet changed Caine but also caused more harm than good. It created friction and caused him to lose alot more than he could have imagined. Caine was more than meets the eye. He is kind, gentle, loyal and sweet. He has a past that breaks the heart and his love for his grandmother and uncle is strong and wonderful to see. He has some insecurity that he hides well but he is also wicked smart. Little did he know that taking on Evie for his grandmother would turn his world upside down. Evie does help Evie see beyond his grandmother and helps him see he is a amazing person worth more than his money. Caine helps Evie see not everyone and everything is as they seem. The story was entertaining and endearing. Watching Caine help others and his family he didn’t really know was heartwarming. Watching him with his uncle and the love he had for him was sweet. Seeing him care for Evie even when she thought he was trying to take her down was wonderful. He only ever wanted her safe and his grandmother happy. He didn’t want to hurt anyone and he knew that his grandmother’s wishes would but his grandmother was his world. She raised him and he felt he owed her so much but also couldn’t lose her like he did others in his life. She was his safety and he was afraid of losing her. Evie turned his world around and he began to see things differently. He wanted her in his life. He found her to be a breath of fresh air but he didn’t want to hurt his grandmother. You feel for Caine because he is in a balacing act and has the most to lose. yet his feelings for Evie can’t be denied and the leap off the pages. His kind heart does as well. You see what an amazing guy he is. Even in the end you see how big and amazing his heart is. Debbie Mason has wrapped the series up with a wonderful story of family, loyalty love and forgiveness. She gave us two strong stubborn and yet caring and kind hearted characters in Evie and Caine that you fall for and love seeing them fall in love and find their way to one another and their happy ever after.

In the two books I've read, Mason does such a wonderful job of describing the town, it makes me yearn to visit the town, especially since it sounds positively enchanting during the holiday season! This story is about a woman--Evangeline (Evie) Christmas whose family has owned a holiday gift shop in the town for many years. A wealthy businessman and property developer -- Caine Elliott -- wants the property where the shop is located, so he can build the headquarters for his international company. Evie uses all her resources and creativity to preserve not only her shop, but the small town charm of Harmony Harbor and its many unique shops, which may be destroyed if Caine Elliott gets his way. She makes a bet with Caine--if he fulfills three wishes from her shop's "Angel Tree," she would consider allowing him to buy her property and close the shop. Of course, she doesn't plan to lose the bet, and finds three wishes that would be very hard for Caine to fulfill, while helping him better understand the need to maintain the small town/community feel. At the same time, the wishes teach Caine more about himself too. But she doesn't predict that while he is fulfilling the wishes, she learns more about who Caine Elliott really is, and begins to fall in love with the man who is trying to ruin her business and Harmony Harbor's small town character. There are some wonderful twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages of this story. It's especially surprising when you learn that Caine and his grandmother have an unexpected connection to the owners of a local mansion/hotel. And that vengeance over a past injustice is driving his grandmother to destroy the hotel and the town, with Caine torn between his loyalty to his grandmother who raised him, and his conscience telling him to do what is right by the people of Harmony Harbor. Yes, you should read this book!!

Christmas at Harmony Hill was your typical Christmas Romance - sweet with lots of do-gooding involved. I did feel that both the hero and heroine were a little too helpless. And they both had chances to do more than what they could be doing. I was a bit frustrated with them both because they couldn't/wouldn't change without a major kick in the butt.

I also liked how part of the book took Caine through being Scrooge in A Christmas Carol and had him having to pick three angels off the tree for Christmas past, present and future. I think Colleen can be really proud of her family and Greystone Manor in the years to come. I really liked the characters of Evie and Caine. It was fun to watch them fall in love even though they started out as enemies. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Christmas is a time for family and traditions and that's something that Evie Christmas is hoping will help save her Holiday House from being torn down by Wicklow Developments and its CEO, Caine Elliot. Caine came to Harmony Harbor to build his office development and gain revenge for his grandmother on the Gallagher family, but he didn't expect to be charmed and drawn in by the local proprietor of the all-year-round Christmas store. Evie certainly didn't picture herself being attracted to the Christmas is a time for family and traditions and that's something that Evie Christmas is hoping will help save her Holiday House from being torn down by Wicklow Developments and its CEO, Caine Elliot. Caine came to Harmony Harbor to build his office development and gain revenge for his grandmother on the Gallagher family, but he didn't expect to be charmed and drawn in by the local proprietor of the all-year-round Christmas store. Evie certainly didn't picture herself being attracted to the individual responsible for her home, her livelihood, and her family history possibly being bulldozed and cemented over, but she sees more behind Caine's Scrooge facade than he's willing to reveal. When the opportunity presents itself to make a bet, the two agree that Caine has to successfully complete three angel wishes from the Angel Tree in Holiday House. Should Evie win she gets to keep Holiday House and should Caine win he gets to build his office tower. Needless to say, Evie and the town of Harmony Harbor do not make it easy for Caine in hopes that this Grinch's heart will indeed grow to love the town and its inhabitants. Christmas in Harmony Harbor is filled with Christmas spirit... and an actual spirit, that of Colleen Gallagher. Her shenanigans in aiding her family members are at an all time high, which is what readers have grown to expect from the Gallagher matriarch. I really enjoyed the two main characters of Evie and Caine and their dynamic together. I also enjoyed Seamus, Caine's uncle. He added an extra layer of fun to scenes within the book and I liked that he, like me, also loves a good Hallmark movie. From beginning to end, this reads like a soap opera starting with "I'm... a Gallagher!" to "Pirate treasure!" and I love every page of it :) I enjoyed the "It's a Wonderful Life" aspect at the end. I did feel like the series of events after Emily comes to town were rushed, but that's because I would liked to have seen more of her within Harmony Harbor. She's such a maniacal, layered character, I wanted to see if maybe her Scrooge heart could have grown before her death. Same with the events after her death, I wanted more leading up to them finding the treasure — but with how much I love this fictional town and its people I’ll always want more! 🙂 I just can't wait to see what's in store for Evie and Caine in the future, especially since they're to meet at the Gallagher manor a year from the end of the book! I highly suggest the Harmony Harbor series of books to anyone who loves a great story and characters that you'll feel you can walk out your door and meet at anytime.

This was a feel-good romance perfect for snuggling down in a comfy chair with a warm blanket and a sugary cup of hot cocoa! The secondary characters were just as original and charismatic as the hero and heroine, and I loved the element of the paranormal inserted into the story. Not enough to change the genre, but enough to add a spice of the mysterious unknown. This is a book that would appeal to all ages, all genders, and it would certainly draw any romance skeptic into the circle once they finished it. Evangeline Christmas has been running her late father's year-round holiday shop, despite the constant griping from her mother to go back to her "real" job at the hospital. Although it has been a struggle, it's the memories and the love of the town that keep her there. But all of that is threatened when Caine Elliott, a real estate developer who wants to bulldoze her store to make room for his own project. It's all business to Caine, but to Evie, it's very personal, and soon the battle between them becomes heated. It leads to a bet - Caine must fulfill three wishes from Evie's Angel Tree before Christmas Eve, or he will abandon his plans and leave Evie's shop alone. If he wins, Evie must support his project and gain the support from the town as well. With the addition of a family secret buried in Caine's past, the holidays are looking to be very interesting indeed for the quiet town of Harmony Harbor. Evie and Caine were well suited to each other. Polar opposites in temperament but exactly what each other needed. Evie was impulsive, eternally positive in spirit, and generous to a fault. Caine was serious, a realist by trade, and unbending in his desire for what he wanted. They both learned to give a little in this story. While I was not a fan of many of his actions, you could tell his heart was in the right place. He didn't enjoy being ruthless, but in his line of work, that was how he was used to getting things done. It took Evie to get him to see that there are always two sides to every story and blind loyalty could be the worst way to live. I will be recommending this to my whole family this holiday season! This is exactly the type of book that they will love, and it certainly gets you in the mood for Christmas music early. **I received a free copy from the publisher and this is my honest review.**

While I’ve learned to never say “final” to any series, indications are that this story will wrap up this series. And it does that quite nicely, of course, I have questions but for the most part, I was completely satisfied with how most of those “loose threads” were tied off. Evie and Caine’s journey from enemies to a truly in love ending was magical to follow. There were twists, a few things I wasn’t expecting, definitely drama, but at the core are two wounded people discovering that together they simply fit, they work, and that is worth the fight to hold on to each other no matter what is tossed their way. It would be very easy to get caught up and tell you more than I should – so I’m simply going to say that I loved CHRISTMAS IN HARMONY HARBOR, it touched my heart, made me smile, got me angry, and gave me a Christmas to remember. If this is the final story then I’ll be sad to see old friends go – but knowing that I can always do a re-read of a series I’ve enjoyed eases that sadness. If you love interesting characters, a bit of drama, enemies to lovers, and watching Christmas magic soften one man’s heart then you’ll want to pick up this story right now. Although I’ll always recommend reading a series in order – you could enjoy this one on its own with little confusion about who is who or why- what you’d need to know is mentioned. I hope you’ll step into Harmony Harbor, I believe you’ll love not only this story but the entire series. *I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

ARC REVIEW Harmony Harbor #9, I love this book. It's the last book of the series, or at least it plays out like it is the last. I enjoyed the entire series this one made me bawl at the end. It really is the perfect ending heartwarming and just a little bittersweet. Evangeline Christmas left her NYC psychiatric practice behind to run the all year round Christmas store, Holiday House, in Harmony Harbor. A store that has been in her family for about a century and now it's being threatened by international real estate developer, Caine Elliot. Holiday House is Evie's haven and she will do anything to save it even make a deal with the devil. The devil being Caine and the deal more like a bet. Evie has an Angel Tree where people put up wishes that aren't easily done. She bets Caine that he can't do three Angel Wishes before Christmas, if she wins Caine takes his development of Wicklow Tower somewhere else and if she loses then she leaves no arguing, no more protests and convinces the rest of the town too. Evie plans it to where it's very much like a Christmas Carol and these acts of kindness will turn Caine from Scrooge at the beginning of the book to Scrooge at the end of the book. It wouldn't be so hard if Evie and Caine weren't also fighting their attraction to each other. The first wish brings Caine into close proximity to Evie daily which allows the both of them to get to know each other better. The more they find out about each other the more they like each other until they both give in to the attraction and fall in love. Caine's Grandmother is not an easy woman and she is dead set on ruining the Gallaghers and if she has to scare away Evie to move things along she will. Overall, this was a great story this is one of my favorites. What am I going to do without this series?

It’s that story that makes the characters work their way into your heart, makes you fall in love with the caring community the town has, and makes you just so enjoy all the little things in-between. That was this book. But then it also wasn’t at the same time, because it had a bit of a heavier/deeper feel to it (trigger warnings: assault and emotional abuse)... and even a family ghost (though a friendly one, who I ended up enjoying as a character once I got used to that element). So if you like your Christmas reads filled to the brim with romance and lots of cheesy sweetness, this might not be the best fit for you. That said, it totally worked for me and I loved it. Sincere, heartwarming, and magical are a few words I’d use to describe Christmas in Harmony Harbor. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series (this read just fine as a stand-alone) or by this author for that matter, but I now see why these books are so loved by her fans. I’d really like to go back and start from the beginning (which means I have my work cut out for me). Well worth considering adding to your holiday TBR.

Cut back to normalcy. A spirited Christmas bet I made. More ghost and cat fireside chats. Backstory. Etc. Complex backstory told mostly by a ghost then then said ghost's newly revealed trashy tell-all memoir. Segments of the memoir could have been used in lieu of all the ghosting and the actual contents are revealed by a living character anyway. Oh yes, and evil Grandma. Then random pirate treasure in the last 30 pages. The book finale is mostly a giant ghost pow-wow which potentially works if your into the entire ghost subplot. If you are an existing reader of this series you may have a different experience and enjoy the extensive cast that pops in and out. And while you can read it alone, I think it would benefit from a realignment to remove the ghost element.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters. I thought it was interesting seeing Caine slowly but surly able to redeem himself because he truly was a jerk in the beginning and as he took on Evies challenge he was able to do more and open more and it was interesting seeing him change and better over the course of the book. Then there was the romance that would only get complicated when a clear end needs to happen, either she keeps her shop and he looses everything or shes looses her shop and hes seen as the town jerk ruining stuff. There is plenty going on to keep the readers interested, with the romance, family drama, secrets and plenty more. I really enjoyed myself reading this and think you readers will enjoy it too.

If you’ve read the series from book one or it’s the first one you pick up, I guarantee it will not disappoint. This final installment tells the story of Caine Elliot, the man behind the company trying to buy Greystone Manor. Caine is an enigma. As a fan of the series and lover of the manor, I should hate him, but I don’t. I love him. He has a good heart which is evident when he was first introduced in Barefoot Beach as Theia’s best friend. He cares deeply for those that he loves and is loyal even when the person doesn’t deserve his loyalty. My heart broke for him over and over again throughout the story, especially as his history is revealed and how the manor plays into it. But this story isn’t just about Caine. It’s also about Evangeline Christmas, the owner of Holiday House, a historic home and store on the main street of Harmony Harbor. It also happens to be next door to the development Caine’s company is building and the town just voted to approve Caine’s request to buy Holiday House and put a parking lot in its place. Furious and heartbroken don’t begin to describe how Evie is feeling, but she is determined to stop it. With the help of Caine’s uncle Seamus, Evie devises a plan to do just that. The plot of the story follows Caine and Evie as Evie’s plan is put into motion. Evie bets Caine that he can’t fulfill three wishes from her angel tree. As a man who never loses, Caine takes the bet. Evie uses each wish as an homage to the Dickens’s classic A Christmas Carol. Each angel is one of the ghosts of Christmas, breaking down all of Caine’s barriers and a few of Evie’s along the way. I love this twist! It really explores Caine’s history giving readers a clear insight into his character. Not to mention the chemistry that builds between Evie and Caine as he fulfills the wishes and they get to know one another. Overall I loved Christmas in Harmony Harbor. While I’m sad to see the series come to a close, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending. Colleen would be happy with it! If you enjoy sweet, holiday romance, I highly recommend you grab a copy asap. This review first appeared on Mom with a Reading Problem. To see it and other reviews, follow the link.
