I was thrilled to see this unofficial Tasty cookbook available to read and review because I am a huge fan of Tasty's video recipes! Simple ingredients, a fun, quick presentation, and straight forward recipes, Tasty makes cooking approachable for everyone! I have already made a couple recipes, which have become staples in my house, including Roasted Chickpeas (I eat them as a snack most days of the week), Zucchini Pancakes, and the Garlicky White Bean Dip. I'm a vegetarian, and while the cookbook includes some meat-focused recipes, I found a nice variety of veggie-friendly recipes and others I could modify easily. Not only that, but there are many "clean" recipes offered, and recipes that would be easy to modify to your version of clean eating. This cookbook is well-written with easy steps to follow, chock-full of pictures (multiple pics for each recipe!), and just plain fun to look through and start meal planning. Highly recommended for a variety of simple, easy-to-follow recipes! Thanks to the author, publisher, and Edelweiss for the opportunity to review (and cook!)!

I received an electronic free copy of I Love Tasty by Catrine Kelty from NetGalley for my opinion. This cookbook was beautifully illustrated and well put together. This would be a great cookbook for someone who really wants to learn to cook. The step by step pictures and descriptions are fantastic. Very well done!

I follow quite a few different versions of 'Tasty' Facebook so I'm familiar with their recipes and I usually enjoy watching them. When I requested this cookbook from NetGalley I thought that it was an official book from Tasty, I guess I didn't read the description very well. So it was a little disappointing when I started it and realized it wasn't official. But obviously that's my own fault. This collection of recipes isn't very large, I read through the book in about 15 minutes. This collection of recipes isn't very large, I read through the book in about 15 minutes. I'm not sure I liked the recipes they put in this book all that much. I felt like there are a lot of better and more interesting recipes that Tasty puts out that could have been included. It would have been nice to see some more international dishes maybe from Tasty's other pages as well. There were a few decent looking one's that I hadn't seen before that I will more than likely try soon. The recipes overall felt very basic and maybe they were going for more of a beginner cook audience but it made the recipes not very interesting to me. Some of the "recipes" I wouldn't even really call recipes, like the teriyaki chicken wings that include ingredients of pre-made teriyaki sauce and fresh chicken wings. All you do is slap some sauce on the wing's and cook 'em! LOL. There was also an ice cream sandwich recipe where you took pre-made cookies and pre-made ice cream and slapped them together! SMH. Overall this is not something I would have spent money on. *I received a free advanced copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really like watching Tasty videos on Facebook. But a lot of the time I don't bother writing down recipes and making them. I like using cookbooks better. This book is very convenient for this. The step-by-step instructions and photos are very useful to anyone who is a visual learner, a beginner or maybe a cook who needs a bit of confidence. For such a short book (90 pages), there is a good variety of recipes, a lot of which I'll try. I also appreciated that equivalences are given for I really like watching Tasty videos on Facebook. This is a very, very basic beginner cookbook. Tasty but in book format, what’s not to love?! This the perfect recipe book for those who don’t know how to cook, are learning, or just don’t really feel like cooking. It’s simple, has easy to follow step by step instructions. With pictures. Bonus. Each recipe looks Tasty (see what I did there?) and brilliant for any level of skill. Plus the book has conversions in each recipe. As a Brit this is massively handy cause I have several differently sized cups. I found the title for this book was definitely appropriate as I have made a few of the recipes, as has my teenage Daughter, and they were easy to follow and were certainly tasty. It contains an excellent mixture of breakfast, snack, soups, vegetable dishes, dinners, desserts and drinks so something for everything. The recipes used everyday easy to source ingredients and they were accompanied by pictures similar to step by step guides, which were great quality. I look forward to spending some time in the kitchen with this one. received via Netgalley

I must confess I had not heard of the Tasty YouTube channel or its popularity, but if it's encouraging young people to cook then that's great! This book is really aimed at beginners, with lavishly illustrated step-by-step recipes and LOTS of photos, for example - photo of raw ingredients, then photo of ingredients in mixing bowl, in pan, in oven, as served etc. While I'm not the target reader for this book I do appreciate that it would make a fantastic gift for students, young or first-time home I must confess I had not heard of the Tasty YouTube channel or its popularity, but if it's encouraging young people to cook then that's great! The recipes are good, seem fairly healthy and featuring many everyday items such as meatballs, mac and cheese through to apple pie. As a first cookbook, what's not to like? This review copy request was a no brainer for me. I love when the Tasty videos come up on social media. There is always something that I never thought to try, or even something that simplifies prep for a recipe I’ve already been using. The videos are easy to follow. However, if you’re looking to have a neat little place to have these recipes to pull out on the fly this recipe book is a great place to start. The pictures are simple and easy to follow. Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishers for this review copy. I follow Tasty on facebook and love watching the videos of different unique recipes, so for it to be in a handy book is even better. Nice recipes that are on the more basic/simple side but cover the gamut of pretty classic recipes ( mac and cheese to ice cream sandwiches to nicoise salad) Great pictures to help with direction. Definitely a better cookbook for a younger /novice cook that also has an interest in Tasty videos - although those are hard to beat :/

I Love Tasty by Catrine Kelty is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in late October. Extremely perky, Buzzfeed-like tone to each basic recipe and a metric ton of simple, uncluttered photos to help guide you through each step; from prep to presentation.

A cookbook must have pictures for me to like it, this one does in step by step form, but not too many for each step. This is a great cookbook, for some one just learning to cook. It has nice recipes, nothing too exciting, but okay.

I did, however, want to review “I Love Tasty” The Unofficial Cookbook for just that reason. I wanted to see if this book could stand alone and could be enjoyed by someone who is not familiar with the Tasty videos. Born from incidentally noticing someone taping a screenshot of a food video to the kitchen counter, the author wondered if a cookbook could be created, with a lot of step-by-step photos, in the tasty fashion. This is the result. Recipes in this cookbook cover several categories including: Good Morning Breakfasts Easy Snacks And Appetisers Soups, Salads, And Sandwiches, Pastas, Greens, And Beans, All Kinds Of Vegetable Dishes Meat, Poultry, And Fish For Dinner Sweets For Dessert – Or Anytime Cool (and Heart) Things To Drink The recipes do live up to the author’s vision. Beginning with a short description, each is accompanied by a lovely full-colour picture, several step-by-step photographs and detailed instructions. Some also include little tips like what kind of ingredient to use, helpful shortcuts, or variations. Very Simple Recipes The recipes in the book seem very easy to make. That they don’t seem to be overly complicated is maybe part of the problem. The book seems to do exactly what it set out to do. Unfortunately, I found with most of the recipes the screenshots are unnecessary. Do we need to see an empty frying pan with a little bit of oil in it to know how to put oil and frying pan? It is unnecessary to see ingredients in a blender to know how to blend ingredients. Even for a rank beginning cook, I feel most of the step-by-step pictures are unnecessary. Had the pictures perhaps been detailing a more challenging set of recipes, this review would have been quite different. But given the simplicity of most of these recipes, I feel to screenshot every single step of the recipe is overkill. Overall, the book is good for beginner cooks looking for some go-to recipes. See the full review and the recipe for “Not Your Typical Oatmeal Cookies” on the RecipesNow! Reviews And Recipes Magazine. This review is in response to a free copy of the book provided to me by the publishers in hopes of an honest review.

I have loved watching the Tasty ads on Facebook for so long, so when I saw the opportunity to review this cookbook to say I was excited, would be an understatement. This book is just a great as the Facebook commercials, full of brightly color images and scrumptious looking pictures. I found it easy to follow along and even easier to snarf up the food that I created. This cookbook is absolutely wonderful!

I have to admit that I knew nothing of the "Tasty" style to food cooking prior to reading this book and agree that this visual approach is appealing especially for those learning to cook or with a trendy style towards the newest social media sensation.
