Red Angel begins when Bo is forced to pretend to date Michael. But you see, nothing is never as it seems. Now that she's deemed one of the good guys in the human's eyes, she must do what she can to help make the vampires look better, but that's all going to change when her enemies are coming after her. Red Angel was very good! It starts out really great, and just keeps going until you get to the cliffhanger ending, then it just piss you off. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series! I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It had a lot of action, and detective work on Bo's part. Also, there was a lot of interaction that I loved between Bo and Michael as well! Now, I can not wait for the next one.

WHY DIDN'T I LISTEN TO THE CLIFFHANGER WARNINGS IN THE GOODREADS REVIEWS?! Anyway. The book was good. Probably not as good story wise as the previous one. Maybe i should have given this book four stars. But i just love the main character so much. She seems so alive to me. Still a solid Urban fantasy mystery story. I have tried to find out when the next book comes out, with no luck. Please make it be soon!

When Despair Triumphs Helen Harper is merciless with her characters. You never know who is going to die next. SPOILER ALERT. And just when you think Michael and Bo will finally get together, or Bo and her grandfather will heal their differences, fate intervenes again until Bo succumbs to X's temptation to revenge. I'm starting to get cross Ms Harper. Bo, Michael and all the rest of us deserve some happy ever after. I'd settle for happy for a week or so.

I really like this series, but this one in particular had a few inconsistencies... Small details that ended up really bugging me. The story was excellent. One of the better ones by this author. I just got a bit aggravated when it didn't mesh. For instance; Arzo "steps" in front of Gloria to 'protect' her/ confront Bo. The guy is in a wheelchair. He's not stepping anywhere. Another instance has Bancroft back on the scene at a meeting. How? She died. Is she a ghost? (She could be.) I get it could just be the "Family" name used to describe the person that took over after her death, but if that's the case it should be clarified somewhere that this Bancroft is a different one. Bo also walks out of Merlin's with a painting. She then stops to have a heart wrenching phone conversation at the Black Market Gates. In her stupor she goes to a party. Where'd the painting go? She hadn't taken it back yet. Did she leave it by her motorbike? Put it in O'shea's car? Either the phone call should have happened outside of Renfrew's, indicating the painting was back, or something should have happened to it... It was kind of important. Little things, that could have been fixed with a word or two or maybe a sentence, would have made this near perfect. Still that cliffhanger is enough to make you shiver!

Well this series started out good. Although there were a lot of parallels to the "highland magic" series which i read first. Female investigators like Veronica Mars in a magical world. A feisty young female character, who thinks she is the rescuer of the world. Sadly both were too Stubborn, too independent and lying constantly by omission or not so apparently good reasons. The author did not manage to write a constantly engaging story in both series. The concept wasn't bad and it is a good woven net of cases and stories to solve with a strong backbone story to go along. But the humor for example fell flat and barely made me laugh in both books. The stories are both stretched out too long and i was left dissatisfied at the end with both books. A love story in the background, her being scared of getting hurt. And the romance drags along through the entire series before anything substantial happens if it happens at all, which lacked big time for me and felt like pulling a tooth. The first 2 books were a nice read, book 3 was at the limit of my patience, then it went fast forward into boring and annoying, i scrolled through book 4 and 5 only to not loose the hang of it and finally read book 6 fully again. The finale wasn't that bad, but i missed the love from the author. The ending was disappointing and uncaring.

After the events in High Stakes, Bo Blackman has found herself the media darling and of course everyone wants to use that attention for their own agendas. But it is a bit hard to be a Private Investigator when everyone is clamouring to get your autograph, so Bo Blackman decides to solve that pesky little fifty year old mystery that popped up a time or two in the third book. As I said in a review previously, Harper’s writing is very consistent from book to book. The character development and growth is really good, I like that Bo gradually gets better in both her P.I. Skills and her vampire skills as the books goes along. And I really red Angel, but I almost only gave a 3 star rating. Throughout the series the editing errors have been consistent, and while present they haven’t actually been too much that they detract from the story. But there was a MAJOR mistake in this book. Near the end of the book, Bo destroys her phone and then in the very next chapter she takes it out of her jacket to make a call. I do not understand how nobody picked this mistake up before going to publishing. In the end however, the story won out over the mistake and I stuck with the 4 stars. Red Angel did feel a bit more like a filler book than the previous ones, even though a lot happened. And as the synopsis states: at the end everything changes. Have to read the fifth book now!

Thrilling and gripping and the read yet. Another amazing book by Helen Harper this book gripped me yet again from start to finish and at certain points gave me goosebumps. This book pushes Bo to analyse everything she's ever thought of and towards the end a sickening and heartbreaking twist in tale where death goes hand in hand with betrayal This book had everything suspense, treachery sweet romance, game playing, intuition, conspiracy and so much more. I loved every minute of it and will be moving on to find out how Bo will take on responsibilities as X pushes her to become adark angel Justice. Little Bo Peep has finally she reached her limit and there's no knowing what she will do.

"Red Angel" is the forth book in the "Bo Blackman" series written by Helen Harper. Bo, now known as the Red Angel, to her adoring public, is unable to continue with her PI work for New Order. Instead, Bo is hyper focused on finding out what really happened to Tobias Renfrew. If she finds out what happened to him, then she can find the people who are responsible for hurting Rogu3. And she knows just the quarter daemon to help her out. Overall, this was another good novel in the series. It was just a tad bit slower paced than the previous novels. The second half moves the series plot line forward while throwing in some unexpected angst in the end.

3.5 stars Continues to be an engaging series. There is a lot going on in this book. Bo is still investigating the disappearance of Tobias Renfrew. She is also famous after the rescues she did in the last book. This fame becomes a bit of a burden as she is followed by journalists and fans alike. This does cause problems for her investigations but there is also a plus side: it gets her into places she wouldn't otherwise be able to get into. Well - I am currently listening to these books - not reading them. I really enjoy the narrator, she has narrated all Helen Harpers books. She has the most amazing range of British dialects. I am not sure I would enjoy them just as much reading on my own. The men in her books should be stronger and more persistent and the women should be a bit less standoffish- it quickly becomes old when they keep their love interests at arms length for the most time. Final a 3-star rating for this series. I have started the 5 book and this series to my happiness is starting to get better. This book looks like the start of a full 3 stars and maybe a turning point for this series. I will contiune with this series but as I said in my other comments that the author has better book/series and they should be looking at before you read this series and maybe write her off.

2.5 stars for excessive, "I bit my lip." I've dumped series before for too much lip biting. If the next one is this bad, I'll dump this series too. Bo bites her lip in pretty much every chapter. How lazy to keep writing that. I don't read British writers very often--could it be a quirk of theirs? Well, on to the next.

Just can't stop I am so enthralled with this series. I wake up early and go to sleep late so I can keep on reading. I believe I have 2 more books to go. I usually don't like long series, but this one has been excellent. I'm glad I decided to go ahead and read it. I just recently "discovered" Helen Harper. How did I miss her before?

2.5 stars While this series is getting better, Bo remains unlikable and her relationship with Micheal remains a cardboard cutout rather than anything to swoon over. The mystery was obvious, what was shocking was that Bo was able to figure out what no one else could.

Wow this series just keeps getting better, so much so that I had to get all the books to make sure I don't miss a thing! Bo is still incredibly irritating, and in my opinion creates a good portion of the problems that she is in, or at least makes it worse due to her lack of communication. In the end, I enjoy the book to much to let that stop me from finding out what happens next.

Sorry Ms Harper, but this was my least favourite book in the series... Where the billionaire was became very obvious less then half-way through the book, so I became very bored waiting for the characters to figure it out. Also; Bo pisses me off a bit in this book; ditzy just to be 'funny', bitchy gives-out-but-can't-take-back, and I found the way that the family heads gather and talk about sensitive issues around her to be unrealistic for centuries old vampires to treat a months old newbie. The ending shows promise for book 5, so hopefully misgivings with this book is a one-off bump in the road.

This just seemed like such a ridiculous book, Bo's 'plans' and 'investigations' are terrible and she seems t have this real superiority complex where she believes no one else can possibly do a half decent job so she goes charging in causing carnage. Her relationship with Michael just feels so forced, she doesn't act like she cares about him at all, she occasionally acknowledges that he's hot but beyond that there doesn't seem to be much of a connection. It's just a disappointing book for me.
