Dome of delicious delights... I must admit that I am really hooked on this series. I'm finally starting to get the hang of the British-isms enough to laugh in the right places. And speaking of laughing, I totally cracked-up reading the game of spin-the-bottle. Can you imagine rockstars having to pull pieces of paper telling them what to do and ending up with instructions to pull a pubic hair or to swap underpants with the person next to them? I loved the witty banter between the characters, finding the sarcasm and silliness very entertaining. I found myself on the sidelines cheering on the band members of Black Halo, encouraging them to not give up when 'accidents' kept happening. I had my suspicions, but for some reason nobody listened to me as I shouted at my Kindle. And then...when things were getting very HOT between Ash & Ginny on the bus, in the tent, under the tree, etc...well, then I was glad to be invisible (wink-wink). And then, when things were finally lining up, when mysteries were being solved and secrets were being revealed, it ended... It wasn't a huge cliffy, I did get some answers, but there is still plenty to look forward to in the next book.

All Fired Up I read the black hole series out of order, but that's ok. I'm still addicted to it. Still is it exciting anyway you do read the series.

I've invested quite heavily emotionally into this series of books - something about the band Black Halo really appeals to my idea of perfect escapism. So naturally, I jumped at the chance to learn the other side of the story to Come Together, which is much more about Xane and Dani. This time the story of Ash and Ginny continues, running more or less concurrently with Come Together (which you really should read first for maximum enjoyment and making sense of the time line). I wasn't 100% sure I liked Ginny too much in the previous book, although I admired her for being feisty, but I really started to root for her while reading this, and could cheerfully have half strangled Ash for his clumsy efforts to keep their relationship secret. Bless him, he's a work in progress emotionally, and Ginny seems just the person to unravel the mess he's in and help him learn to trust again. Add in a villain, and boy do I hate him (no spoilers) and a crazy bunch of bad boy (and one girl) rockers in mourning and in the middle of a tour, and someone who is out to destroy them, and huge amounts of steaming hot sexy action, and you've got yourself a winner. Again. Can't wait for my next Black Halo fix.

REVIEW: ALL FIRED UP is the second installment in Madelynne Ellis’s contemporary, new adult BLACK HALO erotic romance series focusing on Black Halo’s lead guitar Ash Gore and Ginny Walters. The BLACK HALO series is the companion to Madelynne’s ROCK HARD series. ALL FIRED UP runs parallel to COME TOGETHER (Rock Hard #2) –confused?-So was I but technically ALL FIRED UP is the fourth full line novel focusing on the members of the goth rock band BLACK HALO ALL FIRED UP is the continuing story of Black Halo’s lead guitar player Ash Gore and the woman with whom he has fallen in love-Ginny Walters. Ginny is a rock groupie who targeted Ash for a night of wanton sex only to discover that the man she admired from afar was much more different than the public persona everyone saw on stage. The storyline follows Ash and Ginny’s building relationship as well as Black Halo’s search for a new drummer-enter Iain Willows-a former band mate of Ash’s and a man whose need for revenge has seethed and grown for a number of years. The sex scenes are erotic; oft times spontaneous; and always hot and steamy. Ash is the epitome of a rock star with women at every stop but something about Ginny will call to his heart. The world building continues to focus on the band, their tour and behind the scenes where threats against their lives and their loves become all too personal. All of the band members play a secondary and supporting role. ALL FIRE UP does not end on a happily ever after, but a happily ever after for now. Ash and Ginny’s continuing story will focus on recovery, forgiveness and moving forward. An attack against the band will have everyone reconsidering their choice of mates and friends. Madelynne Ellis invites the reader into an engaging, thought provoking and revealing storyline about life on the road for a successful goth rock band. No one is safe when revenge and betrayal are foremost on the mind of a former friend and one time band mate. He needs someone capable of holding his attention, and though he’s trying hard to keep things cool, protect his heart its clear he’s fallen for her and she for him. It was great seeing the events of Come Together unfold all over again, but from another view. We see just what was going on with Ash and Ginny, where that book only gave us a glimpse of their problems. Once again the band is struggling to cope and the odd things happening make the problems greater. I love the different characters and how they squabble and yet when they need it they support each other and pull together. I love the way this series shows us in depth each band member in individual books, and look forward to more stories from the others – especially mysterious but supportive Spook. Ginny’s tired of being kept in the background, like a dirty secret and wants Ash to announce they’re a couple, but though he’s so close to her, so loving he won’t take that step... what’s she to do? Sit it out while the media think he’s still the man-whore he was, and while the fans are after a sex session with him and paw him all over, or make a stand? Its a tough choice and while they are struggling to find a way forward that suits them both, old friend of Ash and new drummer for the band Iain takes a closer interest in Ginny. Things go badly and ...well, you’ll have to read it. Of course if you’ve read Come Together you’ll know how it all ends but its a fabulous sexy read even knowing that, and still retained freshness for me even though I know the story. I love to re read old favourites and this series is one for the keepers file.   Stars: Five, great sexy, sensual, erotic read. ARC supplied via Netgalley.

Where do I begin? I'm really liking this series. All of the characters are fun, interesting, and tend to get into a lot of trouble and what more do you want from a book? Let's start with Ash Gore. He is one sexy rocker who's been through a lot and is just doing whatever he can to hold his band together because that's all he knows - well, that and his bandmates are some of his closest friends. He is one sexy rocker who's been through a lot and is just doing whatever he can to hold his band together because that's all he knows - well, that and his bandmates are some of his closest friends. He starts by hiring his friend from a previous band to replace Black Halo's deceased drummer, little knowing the friction this would cause along the way. The number one problem is that no one likes the new drummer, Iain, and he has a huge ego and does little to nothing to actually fit in with the rest of the band. Add to this that someone is sabotaging the tour and the tensions really begin to mount. So the last thing Ash needs now is problems of the romantic sort. But that's just what he gets with Ginny, who started out as a one night stand but became so much more by the time the night was through. They've decided to try for more, but this is a tricky thing while the band is on tour, complicated by Ash's determination to keep their relationship a secret. He sees what his friend and bandmate, Xane, is going through with his girlfriend, Dani, and how cruel the press can be and he doesn't want that for himself and Ginny. Besides, he's been burned by love before, so he's also doing this to protect himself. Just wanting to be with him whenever, wherever, and however she can, Ginny agrees to his terms, but that doesn't prevent her from pushing their limits whenever possible. She makes no secret of the fact that she wants something more like her friend Dani is getting with Xane - which includes the chance to travel on the tour bus with her lover - and it's not long before the hotel rendezvous and secret trysts start to take their toll on her. Add to that the fact that Ash's friend Iain has also taken an interest in Ginny and you have one big mess ready to happen. All in all, a truly engaging, fun story that I just couldn't put down until I read the last word. Can't wait for the next adventure from this hard rocking band!

All Fired Up is the second book in Madelynne Ellis' series which features the members of rock band Black Halo. I haven't read the first book in the series, and although I could follow the plot with no problem, I would recommend reading All Night Long first so you get the background of all the characters and relationships. Ash is such a great character - on the surface he's a tattooed bad boy, but inside he's a big softy with a real vulnerable side. Ginny is such a strong feisty woman who is perfect for Ash. The relationship has it's ups and downs throughout the book, with Ginny not impressed when Ash wants to keep their relationship secret and other forces working to keep them apart. They have amazing chemistry between them with some fantastically sexy scenes. I loved the phone sex scene - which wasn't exactly how you'd expect it to be, but it was hot! The supporting cast was great too - I especially love Xane, and he has his own series of 'Rock Hard' books which tell his and Dani's story so I will be adding those to my 'to read' list. Spook is a fantastic character too and I'd love to know more about him. I love Madelynne Ellis' writing style, the story flowed so well and it was expertly written. I've been exploring the author's website, and so many of her books appeal to me. Anything But Vanilla sounds especially appealing - yet another one to add to my 'to read' list! All Fired up is a brilliant book, it has all the vital ingredients - interesting characters, hot rockers, intrigue, romance, a great sense of humour and it is hot enough to steam up the windows! I definitely give this five stars - I can't wait for the next book so we can see what happens next to our favourite hard rock band and the guys and girls we all love. A must read! But unlike me do read them in the correct order! I received a copy of this book free of charge from the publishers in exchange for an honest review.

That one night turned out to be just what they both needed and the start of their journey together.  Ash has finally found someone who understands him and gets to him in a way that no other has. He no longer has to pretend or simply exist...he can begin to live!  Ginny who wanted a one time thing with a hot rock star got more than she bargained for. Something in her past has taught her not to take any sh*t and to go after what she wants...and what she wants, is Ash. Black Halo have reformed and are back on tour....still grieving but trying to move on. Ash has found a new band member but it's not all plain sailing when some of the other band members don't think it's going to be that easy to replace the missing person.  All the while, Ash is insisting on keeping his relationship with Ginny a secret from everyone. He says it's to keep her safe from the press but Ginny has doubts.  I love Ash and Ginny but I also love the other band members. Spook in particular has me completely intrigued and I'm dying to know what his story is.  Things go from bad to worse though when unexplained things start happening while on tour.  There's plenty of drama and tons of hot sex!  Can Ash and Ginny's relationship withstand the secrecy and stress? And will the band triumph once again?  This book is well written and edited and flows so seamlessly through the tale. I highly recommend it!

I like to imagine what it might have been like to date a rock star. With Ash and Ginny, Ms. Ellis portrays the pros and cons, the ups and downs, realistically. There was plenty of steam which was expected since Ash and Ginny throw sparks with just a look. Ms. Ellis also dove a little deeper into the band's interpersonal dynamics - especially Spook's role. <-- I'm hoping he gets his own book *hint hint* And Ms. Ellis threw in a little mystery for some added excitement and suspense. Yeah, All Fired Up had me, well, all fired up! Ash and Ginny are now dating but with the band on shaky ground and about to embark on a tour, Ash wants to keep their relationship on the down-low. At least that's what he's telling himself and Ginny. Ginny's okay with the arrangement, at first. But as feelings start to grow, the secrecy wears thin. The two are my favorite couple from both series. (there are only 2 so far) They fit together well. Ash wears his leathers, guy-liner, and guitar as a shield - all to protect his vulnerable heart from further trampling. He did open up to Ginny though, showed her pieces of himself her preferred to keep buried in an effort to move forward. I admired him for that. Ginny is blunt, independent, and strong-willed. I appreciated that she was unapologetic for her views. And I liked that she stood up for and fought for what she wanted. There's band drama, naturally. And this is where we get better acquainted with Spook as well as getting to puzzle out the mystery. It was all very exciting and entertaining. The story did end on a tiny cliffhanger but not one I can't live with. Besides, All Right Now isn't too far away. **I received a complimentary copy, as part of the blog tour, in exchange for an honest review.**

Well, first off, it took me a bit to get into this one. There was lots of Ginny and Ash, but where was the story? Once Ginny finally put her foot down, things started getting interesting. I was really happy, after the festival, that Ginny once again made the first move and forced Ash to talk to her, to tell her WTF was going on. I felt really bad for her -- she honestly had no memory. And then it just ended. Wait, what? No... you can't leave me hanging like that. I flipped a few pages forward, a few pages back... big heavy sigh. Luckily I had planned to read Resistor next, and it just came out, but I might have been even more annoyed if I'd read this when I actually bought it. So it started off slow, then got good, then it just ended. It's probably closer to 3-1/2 stars than 3, but we don't get half-stars here, and I was really disappointed with how it ended. There had to be a way to end it where it didn't feel so abrupt. But... I'm on to Spook... hopefully we get to see a bit of what's up with Ash and Ginny now, even though it's Spook's book. I really hope we don't have to wait for the next Black Halo book for that info.

I LOVE a rockstar book. I do. There’s something about rockers & backstage & tours & groupies that makes my subconscious want to rip my clothes off to throw them onto the fictional stage. So I’m a bit crestfallen that All Fired Up didn’t get me all fired up. I’m not singing this book’s praises and I’m not condemning it either. There were definitely parts of the story that I enjoyed, and those parts all happened when Ash and Ginny were on the same page or were actually interacting with one another. I felt that there was a lot of talk about the band, but I didn’t get a real connection to them. I actually really enjoyed when Ginny stood up for herself backstage when it came to her relationship with Ash. That was a total YES moment. And I even enjoyed reading about the breakdown between the two (no spoilers), but there were other situations that I felt lacked a lot of foundation and I couldn’t get into it. I go into every book with an open mind, but I couldn’t get into this one. I was really trying to create a connection to the characters, but except for Ash & Ginny, I couldn’t get it up. There was a delay of non-material information, which may have been done in order to build the storyline, and it left me with missing pieces that caught me off guard and had me wondering why I wasn’t told earlier. For example, I had no idea that Xane was bisexual until three quarters of the way into the book (which is probably because I didn’t read book 1; however, this book was touted that it could be read as a standalone, so I sort of felt that it should have been in his intro…right?). And I sure as fuck had no idea that Ash was interested in bi-play until about that time too. I actually found this information to be pretty hot and it totally could have been plugged in to the scene where Ash jacks himself off on the tour bus while having phone sex with his girlfriend…through his best friend, Spook, who refuses to give him the phone. Speaking of….that scene was a little odd to me….and sort of unnecessary, especially because it wasn’t sexual for Spook. But I digress. It was stuff like this that threw me for a loop. I also didn’t feel that I knew enough about Ginny. I didn’t know she was in college until deep into the book, which then finally made sense as to why she could go on tour with the band without any other responsibilities. And then there’s the whole part about her “going home” and “taking care of things” – no follow up explanation, except that she didn’t want to explain whatever she did to Ash. We never did find out and that’s sort of bugging me. I knew more about her clit ring than I did about who she was as a person. When shit hits the fan at the end of the book, I actually was pretty into the storyline. Finally we knew what was causing all of the weird disturbances & accidents – and we knew who was fucking with Ash & Ginny. It was just getting good and then BAM, major cliffhanger. I think my sadface is showing. Here’s to hoping book 3 solves my problems & keeps the momentum going…. Overall, Three solid three stars. ***ARC provided via NETGALLEY for an honest review*** I realized this was the second book in a series (Black Halo) and the fifth book in an ongoing story (Rock Hard + Black Halo) right before beginning this book. It is a pet peeve of mine to start a book mid-series so I went back and read all the books in both series before beginning this one. I am glad I did because it allowed me to be fully invested in all of the characters and grow to love the main characters of this story. I am glad I did because it allowed me to be fully invested in all of the characters and grow to love the main characters of this story. This book does a pretty good job on grazing over the facts you missed so you don’t necessarily have to do go back and read the prior books but it is highly recommended. I absolutely love the heroine (Ginny) in this book and the hero (Ash) is such a cutie. She’s that outspoken friend that always pulls you into the craziest situations you wouldn’t dare be in on your own but when you look back later and realize how much fun you had your grateful she was there. Ash has the type of personality that makes you want to give him a pat on the head and get nasty with him all in the same conversation lol. This story picked up right in the middle of the drama that was unfolding in the last book Come Together from Madelynne’s other series (Rock Hard). There were plenty of scenes that overlapped with scenes from the previous book, however I am really happy the author didn’t just copy the same words and paste a different name on the end of the sentence. I have seen it done before and it was a complete drag! Ugh! I appreciated the fact that I was able to relive the experience through another person’s eyes and focus on different aspects of what was going down. I gave this book 3 stars because it didn’t hold my attention like the first book and I was so annoyed at Ash and Iain throughout so much of the book that I walked around in a perpetual bad mood most of the day. I also wish I could’ve gotten more answers when the shit finally hit the fan. The characters faced some serious life altering issues and I was still left with unanswered questions and I am not even referring to the cliffhanger. Yes, there is a cliffhanger at the end of this one folks! All in all, it’s a good series with relatable characters, heart melting bad ass rockers, great comedic moments, and blush worthy sex. Don’t get me wrong, I very much enjoyed this selection but it just left me feeling like “eh…”

*This book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review* 3 stars.. This is the second book in the Black Halo series. While Ash and Ginny build on their relationship, Ash is extremely reluctant to 'go public' with their relationship. He's been burned in the past, and that wall is too high for him to shout to the world that he's in love. Ginny understands on some level, but also has this feeling of being at his beck and call. Instead of touring with the band, Ash wants Ginny to travel to each concert location so they can spend time together that way, "AKA feeling like she's at his beck and call". Things I liked: they're a great couple; everything fits, and it runs very well along side the second installment of the Rock Hard series. Things that didn't work for me: being that I hadn't read the first in the series..when I started reading the story, it was extremely difficult to visualize the characters appearances, it wasn't until midway thru that I got an idea what they looked like. It's a good series, but doesn't rock it for me as of yet. Again, I've only read this book, and the second in the Rock Hard series. It appears the they coincide with one another; Ginny and Ash are the better bet..although I'm intrigued with Spook.

This review was originally posted on my blog, Darkest Sins. After reading "Come Together", I was really looking forward to putting my hands on "All Fired Up". Why is that, you ask? Because I can't have enough of Ash Gore, of course! That and the fact that it was really killing me not knowing what exactly happened between him and Ginny during the tour. I could say that Ash and Ginny were a fantastic and quite the perfect match from the very beginning, and boy if they just proved me right here! I could say that Ash and Ginny were a fantastic and quite the perfect match from the very beginning, and boy if they just proved me right here! They both have a past that restrains them from taking a real commitment—especially Ash—but it's clear that they want more from their 'relationship'. They just have to work on some personal issues first, and the tour may help or not in this. What it certainly does, is give us a blast! Believe me when I say you can't get a minute of boredom with Ginny's strong personality, Ash making your insides melt and the twists the story is rich of. After an ending like the one in this book, I don't just want to read the next instalment badly, I want to know everything about Spook! Indeed, you should never underestimate the power of 'minor' characters in this series.

Note: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was NOT my cup of tea! As I hadn't read the first book in the series, I was unaware what I was in for. I am a sucker for the bad boy rocker stories, so my expectations were set for a slightly different type I guess. I am not generally a fan of M/M relationships in my romances, so this was a big turn off for me. I also wasn't a fan of Ash's constant referrals to his ex who was the love of his life and their sex life and then the comment to Ginny that his bandmate was the best blow job of his life and that she (his current secret girlfriend) was something like number 4 on the list. Wow, he's a really prince among men that one! If I were Ginny, I would have walked long ago from a jerk like that who wanted to keep me a secret and clearly felt that I was sub par compared to his other sexual conquests! I wish I had known in advance the type of relationships that went on before I invested my time in this book.

In the second book in the Black Halo series, Ginny and Ash are going to try for a real relationship. Except that Ash doesn't want anyone to know. He likes having secret rendezvous with Ginny after his concerts have ended, and for a bit, Ginny is all for it. But she wants what her best friend Dani has with her boyfriend, and the lead singer of the death metal band that Ash is in. She wants the rest of the band to know about her, and she wants to be able to travel with the band on the bus. Unfortunately, this book did not live up to my expectations. I was sooooo looking forward to reading more about Ginny and Ash's story, especially after their explosive first book. But this book was, well, kinda boring. Not much happened. Sadly, if you follow the other series about this band by Ms. Ellis, Rock Hard, you kind of already know what's happening. The only good thing was that after the incident in Rock Hard, book 2, you see the aftermath and the continuation of Ash and Ginny's storyline. But other than that, this was not good. It did end with a cliff-hanger, so now I want to see how this all ends.

ARC provided by CrushStar Multimedia LLC via NETGALLEY for an honest review! I have to tell you guys, I am totally hooked on Madelynne Ellis! No matter what I read, whether historical or contemporary in nature, the woman is spot on! And this book (and series) did not disappoint! There is SO much that is positive in this book. Dual POV of course because it allows you to be in both Ginny's and Ash's minds. That's always a plus for me. And she makes it seamless. There's the character's compatibility. From the banter to the sexing, goooooooood compatibility! So it made the book that much more fun to read! And the woman can write a sex scene people! In ANY environment ;) lol The BEST part of the book is that as it was coming full circle and things were being revealed, the package was wrapped a little askew...so it left you wanting more. Not really what I would call a cliffhanger, but you'll still RUN out when the next in the series comes out! TRUTH! lol SO in total, the book was sexy, edgy and really a lot of fun! You'll read it in one sitting.

Ash... Oh, Ash. You'll always be my favourite Black Halo member. And Ginny, you are my favourite female character of this series. Ever. Same story, different view. I just love how Ellis intersects these novels, starting to tell a story in a book, and making it complete in the next. I. Just. Love. It. It makes me feel more eager to continue, so that I will find the missing parts of what happened in the previous book. What struck me the most, thinking about all the events, is that fans sometimes are Ash... Oh, Ash. You'll always be my favourite Black Halo member. What struck me the most, thinking about all the events, is that fans sometimes are really dangerous, and it kinda scares me that there are people who would go *that* far in order to get attention. The events in here are even more serious than what it looked like in Come Together, and I literally paced for the whole story, worried, shocked, scared, happy... Yeah, a mixture of emotions is what you get when you read one of Ellis' books, so you better have them all together at once, you won't bare the wait!

Received a copy from Netgalley in return for an honest review. Ginny is the secret girlfriend of Ash Gore; a bands lead guitarist. While not happy about being secret she takes what she can get with him for the time because she has strong feelings for him. Following him around on tour of Europe in secret was not exactly how she thought she would be spending the tour, and she isn't happy when she finds out he hasn't and doesn't plan to tell his band mates about her. I liked how Ginny stood up for herself and wasn't willing to settle. Clearly Ash had issues and he was letting those cloud his judgement even though a long period of time had past. The book had a really interesting setting, and the mystery added something extra to it.

This book was good and kept my interest until the last page. I'm awaiting to see what happens next after the end. This book has got me hooked. The book was well written with a great flow. Ash and Ginny are fire alright. They burn up the pages and your imagination. One of the reasons why I gave this book four stars is because I wish Ash and Ginny communicated better at times. They seem to have a lot of miscommunications and don't know how to express themselves or their feelings. The other reason This book was good and kept my interest until the last page. I just wish it was more detailed and better explained. It felt like it was skimmed over to me. Aside from these issues, this book is definitely worth the read! *ARC GENEROUSLY PROVIDED BY PUBLISHER VIA NET GALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

I thought this was a novella, not a serial going in - and I kept thinking "man these two have A LOT OF FUCKING ISSUES THEY NEED TO DEAL WITH" and wondering why that was being ignored ... but yeah ok - I got it; it's because there's god knows how many more parts. I did like that Ginny and Ash did talk; and that a number of misunderstandings were resolved ... I hadn't read #1 ... I guess the place where I found the blurbs weren't the publisher official ones and didn't make it clear. I'm interested in seeing what happens next so I know I'll get and read #3 ... but I'm not sure how much more I'd be willing to go beyond that.
