I'm totes reading book 2!

3.5 Stars! All things considered this was a pretty good read. The sex was pretty damn... ....4/5 star worthy there. But I found Shawn and Trent's dialogue to be a bit cheesy at times and they were both pretty sappy. And I laughed at how often Trent carried Shawn around. But overall this was a very easy read. Very little drama. Entertaining. I'll definitely be checking out the other books in the series! 3.5 Stars! All things considered this was a pretty good read. 3.5 Stars Perfect for when you want men in uniform, lots of smex, and just enough relationship turmoil to keep you on your toes and not in tears. Shawn and Trent meet, and it is definitely insta-lust, and when they decide to move things forward, it is pretty much insta-love. They perfectly and easily connect in and out of the bedroom, but Trent's overprotective streak keeps their work dynamic very messy. How do they reconcile this before they're over, when really, they've just barely begun? This book was a great read for the mood I was in last night. I was cranky, and tired and cold. It warmed me right up. Any other day though, I would have probably been doing nothing but rolling my eyes and shaking my head. This is the most instant of insta-love. I mean INSTANT. The entire book was so over the top but made up for it because it was hot as fuck. So, if you just want a hot read that you can’t take very seriously I say go for it. Will I read the next one? Yeah. After reading this one, readers will want to read the others in the series. Shawn Everly is an officer working the Vegas Strip. He is a bona fide law enforcement officer even if he possesses the body of a Chippendale. When he crosses paths with fireman Trent Marshall, a spark ignites and the sexy time begins. Both Shawn and Trent are drool worthy. They are boy next door sweet and playgirl calendar hot. From a character design perspective, they are easy to understand and admirable. They are both likable and suffer the superhero syndrome. They believe they are invincible and can save the day, despite the perils of possibly dying. The plot of this story is good and enjoyable. Ms. Knight does a nice job of adding a mystery to solve. The conflict is heartbreaking as Trent is not over the loss of his previous lover. The similarities between Shawn and Trent's former lover are too much for him to handle. Ms. Knight shows how people grieve, deny, obsess and finally overcome. Watching Trent spiral out of control and how his family and friends support him is lovely to witness. The comradery of the firemen in this book is appeal and great to see. It enhances the enjoyment of this book. The sex in this book is delicious. For those who are looking for heavy kinky scenes, this is not the book for you. The sex is not exactly vanilla either, unless one considers shower sex and rough sex to be vanilla. There were no sex toys harmed in the telling of this tale. Kidding aside, the chemistry between the two men is good and arousing. This book is recommended to m/m lovers who want their men in and out of uniform. *provided by BDSM Book Reviews

3.5 hearts Shawn and Trent have already been eying each other. They feel the chemistry (so does everyone else around them) but neither will make the first move. Luckily, Trent has no self control and decided to carry Shawn away from a dangerous scene. Yeah, you can guess how well that went over with Shawn, but hey, it's a fun way to get the ball(s) rolling. Heh. Police and firefighter? Yes, please! Trent was way overprotective over Shawn, but it made sense with his past and I liked how they worked through it together. I especially liked that it didn't become an all the time issue. Shawn allowed Trent to take care of him, even if it was overboard at times. But he let him because it made Shawn happy. "It was kind of cute how Trent melted around him, turned into a fuzzy teddy bear worrying over him. A warm squishy feeling gathered low in his belly. He was guilty of some melting too." I love when macho guys turn into goo. Shawn was alpha to a point, but not in the same way as Trent. In a pairing like this so often both men are super-alpha so Shawn's character was a nice change. Once their relationship really got going I really liked them together. They had a nice balance. Shawn dealt with Trent's alpha tendencies perfectly. Such a hardship, I'm sure. Plus, he was the perfect bottom for Trent. Trent and that filthy, dirty mouth of his. Oh, the things that boy says. He got Shawn all nice and worked up, he did. It took a while for me to get into this. It was as slow start and I wasn't really into Trent or Shawn in the beginning. Also, a whole hell of a lot of stuff happened on the Vegas strip in a short amount of time. It felt a little unnatural at times but that didn't last for too long and I really loved the last half of the book. Great start to what is bound to be a hot and fun series. Cops and firefighters in Vegas? Yeah, definitely a winning combo.

3.5 Stars This was some pretty cruisy reading. It may be insta-everything and totally sap-tastic, but it was also light on the angst, had men in uniform (one cop and one firefighter) who engaged in some fairly delicious smexy times, and it even has a slight mystery component that had me intrigued and kept me guessing. I'm a happy camper.

This was really just ok for me. I had trouble keeping the characters separate in my head. I don't know why I struggled so much but I had to often go back and re-read sections to find out whether Trent or Shawn was talking and kept having to remind myself which was which. I didn't dislike the story, but I didn't love it either. It was a fast simple read, that kept my attention without having me engrossed. Trent's history was really sad and I definitely understood the struggles he was having in accepting Shawn into his life. This was probably one of my favorite parts of the story. His fears about loving another cop were justifiable and needed to be addressed before he could really move on and be a true partner to Shawn. I think part of my problems may have come because I kept getting the personality I expected of Shawn from Trent. For a cop Shawn is more intelligence than brawn. His observational skills were really great and I did appreciate the way his brain worked, but he often came across as a bit of a klutz and somehow his heroic actions always seemed to need someone else to step in and help. Still I enjoyed the story and the mystery wasn't badly done if a bit anti-climatic. I was entertained and these two together are definitely HOT! The erotica sections were VERY WELL DONE! A bit of fanning needed. ;)

I quite like this book very much. It was basically a romance but it wasn't angst ridden as the MC's are in their 30's. It had a touch of thriller and a bit suitcase of baggage. It was well written and quite sad. It's also hard to put into words.

But Vegas, well... Vegas is a different league of crazy. Between the heat, Shawn's overwhelming attraction to a fire fighter, and a vigilante group wreaking havoc around Vegas, Shawn's job just got a little harder. Trent Marshall lost his long time partner who was also a cop when he was shot during a casino robbery. Trent swore he would never get involved with another cop again after that, the stress and the job being just too much for him. The spark that flared when he and Shawn shook hands at the blood drive is still tingling in his fingers though. Now Trent feels protective and every call they go out on, he seeks out Shawn to make sure the young man is okay, assisting a little more than necessary much to the dismay of not only Shawn, but Trent's captain at the fire house. The two spend a long day hiking and picnicing in the mountains just outside of Vegas and sparks definitely fly. Their relationship is anything but a secret, especially since all their co -workers witnessed the way they looked at each other from the start. The problem that these two out and proud men have looming is Trent's extremely over protective nature, and Shawn is anything but a damsel in distress. Well, that and a certain vigilante group that promises to "cleanse" Vegas of all deviants. Both men have been hurt in the past. Lost loves and family, and now they have each other. They will have to learn how to communicate though, when Trey would rather throw Shawn over his shoulder and smack his ass than actually hold a conversation. The passion and energy is obvious with them from the first day they meet, but Trey has issues telling Shawn his thoughts, how he feels. They are both proud men, love their jobs and are good at what they do, so either of them walking away from their career is not an option. At the end of the day, is the passion and love they share enough to compromise? This story was just so exciting, dangerous and sexy! I was captivated from the start when Trent pulled Shawn out of the hotel pool when the drunk swimmer was acting a fool. Trent is large, in charge, brooding and really does have this cave man type of attitude. And while Shawn loves all the attention, craves it really, he wants to be sure they remain on equal ground. That they are lovers, partners and equals. The chemistry is fantastic, and while they play off each other’s differences, their similarities really shine through as well. Fans of sexy romances, cops, firefighters and a healthy dose of action of going to love this new series from best selling M/M romance author, Morticia Knight. She definitely shows her ability to write complicated, sexy alpha males with a heart in this one. * I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com *

Both capable and competent, Trent had problems letting go of the past. This added considerable stress to the new relationship. It was looking like their was no hope but each felt they had something and wanted to try and keep it. The action was fast paced and the plot involving the morality group kept it going. Very exciting ending. A nice quick read, All Fired Up was very satisfying.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. I couldn’t resist the lure of a romance between a cop and a firefighter. All Fired Up is a story where the couple goes from attracted and hot for each other to deep feelings in a flash. It didn’t bother me. This isn’t a story that takes time to develop the characters and plot. It is a fast moving and for me it was a quick and entertaining read on a cold rainy Saturday.

Trent is a firefighter who loves his job and can't help but have a protective streak a mile wide inside of him. He isn't expecting to find someone he's interested in, but when he sees Shawn, he can't help but be attracted. When Shawn finds himself in some tricky spots, despite being qualified and capable of getting out of them, Trent comes riding in and rescues him. With Shawn questioning whether or not his coworkers can take him seriously while he constantly battling being rescued, he will have to decide whether or not he should pursue a relationship with Trent, or let his crush go. Trent is struggling with how to be in a relationship. He knows that Shawn is more than capable of handling himself, but when he sees Shawn in trouble, Trent can't help but jump to his rescue. And, with the fires around Vegas heating up, Trent has to figure out who is setting them and why. This story is a slow burn relationship that has aspects of poor communication, strange expectations and protective streaks in both alpha males. However, they work. They compliment each other and have a chemistry between them that is relatable and real. I really enjoyed watching them figure out how to make a relationship work. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Written by Morticia Knight, this is not the usual read about such men. Yes, there is romance. Yes, there is erotica (really HOT! you guys and gals!!!) and Yes, there is the drama of the suspense of a mystery the men had to help solve: the emergence of a hate-filled cult movement ironically called The Citizens Against Immorality. Set in Sin City, Trent is a firefighter who had worked hard to get to where he was at now. He was respected, and he was a friend. He was also out and proud. The only thing that marred his reputation was his stoicism. He was a quiet man who never really showed how he felt or what he felt. His best friend from grade school knew him, though and that friend knew Trent was finally able to move on from his grieving. You see, Trent had lost the love of his life no thanks to a senseless crime. As a cop, his lover served and lost his life in the line of duty. Now that Trent was finally able to move on, the only thing in the way was that Shawn Everly was a cop, too. Shawn had moved from LA because he needed not only to have a less stressful cop life dealing with the gangs of said city, but he also needed to get away from his family who barely tolerated him. Moving to Las Vegas was a decision he had thought about long and hard. Working in this land of lights was not as stressful, but he did have to deal with a lot of groping, women in barely there wear, men glittering gold, and a firefighter who set his blood to boil. There is angst, there is drama, there is action, mystery and thrill. This is a complete package that reads fast with a high entertainment value. Although Trent did surprise me a bit as the story developed but it was a surprise I really wanted to happen. This man needed to heal and he did it through sheer force of will and facing up to his demons. Loving Shawn was difficult for his fears that this man may be violently taken away from him, just like before, was eating at him. The way both men approached the healing, now that was the part I really loved. There were no miracles happening here, there were no instant gratifications. And that for me, is what makes a good read.

~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~ I have to admit I started the series out of order and had to go back and start at the beginning even though each book I think can be read as a standalone. Trent doesn’t do relationships since the loss of his partner two years ago. These two are instantly attracted to each other and you can tell it is going to be hot when things start! Each man has their own baggage but they each want someone to love and to be loved. I just loved how Trent always wanted to carry Shawn and how eventually Shawn would grow to love that and expect it. There are some tense moments but they flow with the story and didn’t seem like filler. The relationship was beautiful to watch and the sex was nice and hot. Characters: well written and easy to relate to Sex: oh yeah! Religious: no Would I recommend to others: yes More than one book in the series: yes Genre: M/M Romance Would I read more by this author: yes ~Wicked Reads Review Team~

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~ This is a really good starter for a new series - we get to meet not just a team of fire fighters, but members of the police department too. We are cleverly drawn into a budding romance, only to find that the real world crashes around them - we have been lulled into such a great sense of happiness, that it is as sad for the reader as the protagonists. Luckily hope, and faith in Ms Knight steers the course - and in both a sensual and realistic fashion, that by the end the heat is rising and the world has righted itself once again. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

3.4 Stars A bit too much like a HQN with a healthy dose of sex. Good, sex...but still, kinda too sweet and syrupy for my taste. Especially since it's set in Sin City. That said, THANK FUCK the author either did some really good research, previously lived here or at least visited at some length because the details were spot on. From the location of the fire station on Harmon to the yellow shirts on MPD foot/bike patrol officers, it was all authentic and accurate. From the location of the fire station on Harmon to the yellow shirts on MPD foot/bike patrol officers, it was all authentic and accurate. Sure, some locations were adapted for creative license but the bare bones of the settings were recognizable as real places. (And I've mentioned in basic updates how much I FUCKING HATE when authors don't do something so simple as getting the street names correct - because I've been here over 15 years and Flamingo Road has always been Flamingo Road and not whatever SR designation some map might indicate - so that local use accuracy of Hooters and Harmon is very much appreciated in this story.)

Loved this and practically read it from start to finish. Put together two sexy guys--a police officer and fireman, a setting of fun- and craziness-filled Las Vegas, past issues that need to be dealt with for one MC, a hate-filled group with an evil agenda, and it made for a wonderful and fast-paced story that I have nothing bad to say about.

For some reason..I just couldn't really get into this one. I didn't feel a connection with the characters and I didn't care for the background story either. Too bad...can't love them all :( I will admit that this was a quite steamy read...the sex was defenately hot...but for me that just wasn't enough. 2,5 / 3 stars from me

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Even though the MC's had a kind of insta love they had their issues that needed to be resolved before they get HEA. In the mix is a mystery that kept me interested as well. Looking forward to book two!
