I really like this series... I just can't stop reading it!!! And now that i finished and the second book, i really liked the way that Elizabeth Briggs bound the characters between them or with some of the characters that they will follow on the next books... While i was reading the first book i was wondering how the author will continue the story, since all the band members have already told their stories, but she continued and she took some other events and friends that they are not having anything to do with the band, but they were there in every book!!! Also i like very much that we took glimpses from the heroes on the third and fourth book and i'm so intrigue that i can't wait to read them!! And finally i like very much that every book is taking place in a big event... The battle of the bands, the music TV show "The Sound", in this book we were having "Comic-Con" a big event for comics fans, and in the next book we will have another one event... How awesome is that??? I loved it!!! Well, we already know Hector. He was the drummer of the "Villains Complex" and he had a big talent not only to drums but to drawing too. In his spare time, he is drawing and with his drawings, he is giving life to a book written from a good online friend of him, Tara. Tara and Hector have spent a lot of time together but always through the screen of their computers, but they have bound in a unique way. In this book, we are one week after the end of the previous book and our location is the Comic-con event... An event that for the first time, Hector and Tara will meet each other in person. Their first book has been releashed and they have to promote it!!! How they will both react to that meeting??? Will they feel the same as always or will it be a little bit awkard??? Well, Hector was always in love with her, even though that he hadn't see her in person. Tara is the one for him... but also is a fantasy that it will never get true. Tara is about to move in New York and he is living in L.A. It will never work out for them... And after all, Tara doesn't interesting in Hector as a lover, but only just friends. Right???? "I didn't want to be single. I didn't want girls fighting over me. I wanted to be hers." Tara is about to walk on a new chapter in her life... She is about to work in her dreamy job and she will have to move in N.Y. She is very exciting, but also she is scared... She is about to move in somewhere that she doesn't know anyone else... And to become her dream true, she broke up with her boyfriend... and she feels a little bit lonely. When she finally meets Hector in flesh and bones, she doesn't know what she is feeling anymore. Everything is changing!!! Her feelings, her life, her own existence... "I couldn't deny it any longer. Meeting Hector in person had awakened something in me. I'd always found him hot, of course. And sure, I'd fantasized about him a few times, but I'd never seriously thought of him as anything more than a friend. He'd always been too far away, too off limits, too impossible to even consider. But now he was more than a daydream I tried desperatelly to ignore- he was very tempting reality. Once we'd come face to face a flick had been switched, and i felt something... more" And when they can't resist to the temptation, what will follow??? Could they work it out, even though that they will live so far away from each other??? Is what they have real of just a flig??? And when the opportunity will rise, they will take it or they will let it slip away from their hands??? "What did she want from me? A declaration of love? I couldn't do it. Not when I didn't know what would happen beyond tomorrow. Our future together was a black hole and I couldn't see what it held for us- and that terrified me." I really liked that story, but i have to admit that i got a little bit frustrated... Why that happened??? Because both Hector and Tara were making assumptions for the other and they were acting wrong... They will letting each other to slip away from them... and that fact made me furious. Why was so hard to speak open and to embrace the truth that was lying between them??? But except that fact i liked the story very much... Not as much as the first one because i love Jared and Maddie very much, but i liked Hector and Tara too... I also liked that we saw all our favorites characters for once again... And now, i'm so curious about Julie and her Englishman!!! The sure thing is that all those guys are chasing their dreams and they are succeeding it!!! ***ARC kindly provided via NetGalley for the exchange of an honest review***

Here's a tiny bit more about More Than Comics: -It's told from both Tara AND Hector's point of view. -It's set a week after More Than Music ends. -It takes place over four days at Comic-Con. -Yes, there will be cosplay. You probably have some idea of what Maddie and Jared will dress up as if you've read More Than Music... -It features the entire band, plus Maddie's roommates and Kyle's girlfriend, Alexis. -It wraps up the band part of the Chasing The Dream series and sets up Behind The Seams, Here's a tiny bit more about More Than Comics: -It's told from both Tara AND Hector's point of view. -It's set a week after More Than Music ends. -It takes place over four days at Comic-Con. -Yes, there will be cosplay. It's almost as long as More Than Music now so I've officially made it book 2 in the series instead of 1.5! Here are some teasers!

2.5 stars!** It's possible that if I'd read the first book in the series I might have given it more stars. If I read it I might have been intrigued about Hector and maybe I'd want to know his story.. Hector and Tara have been friends for years, but they've never seen each other in person. He's been in love with her for a long time. A looong time. Tara has just broken up with her boyfriend that she dated for a year, but she's not sad and instantly attracted to Hector. And they hook up couple of hours after they've met in real life. This one was so damn rushed and too damn flat. It was so predictable.. and several things almost made me scream in frustration. What bothered me: (view spoiler)[ 1. Tara just broke up with someone and instantly she sleeps with someone else. 2. She considers moving or having a long distance relationship with Hector after sleeping with him once. 3. Even in past she jumped from one relationship to another and now she wanted to do the same thing. I'm really annoyed by these types of person. Someone who just isn't capable of being alone. 4. Guess what?! In the end she realized that she's been in love with Hector THE WHOLE TIME! No way! How surprising! I've never read this line before! #sarcasm 5. Her ex proposed. They broke up and he proposes.. 5.1 The ex actually told his plan to Hector and he pushed Tara away so that she could marry someone else.. Are you for real? 6. Obviously Tara said no. And he's okay with that and even goes to a party with her where he finds some girl and almost sleeps with her on the floor. (hide spoiler)] I was bored most of the time. The characters didn't entice me in any way and they were stereotypical and not interesting. It was way too predictable and I felt that it was oversimplified. But I actually might read the rest of the series. I feel that it might be a lot more interesting then this one. More Than Comics picks up where More than Music left off. After an amazing time on the show, The Sound, Hector and his bandmates get to take a break from music to follow him as he attends Comic-Con for his work as an artist on the comic book Misfits Squad. Tara McFadden is the genius behind Misfits Squad and she's finally getting the opportunity to meet Hector after knowing each other through just in the internet for three years while they collaborated on the graphic novels. They're meeting brings out emotions both were holding back and after seeing each other in a new light, they have to make a choice on whether 4 days of Comic-Con is enough time to decide to change their lives for each other. I have made it no secret that I am a huge Elizabeth Briggs fan and an even bigger fan of the Chasing the Dream series, so it should be no surprise that I loved More Than Comics. I was more than excited for Hector's story, especially with his moody demeanor in the first two books. He's a likable character with an interesting history that makes you want to get to know him. I enjoyed his history playing into his present, Elizabeth Briggs always does that so well. Tara is also an incredibly interesting character. She's driven, smart, and totally unaware of Hector's feelings for her and her own for him. Their interactions are a combination of funny, stressful, and sexy as they circle around each other. The Comic-Con part of this is awesome, I loved the cosplay and watching the fans with the band, Hector, and Tara. Plus, I really liked the band's mixture of friends and how you get to know all the characters we'll get to know even better in future books. Like always, Elizabeth Briggs did a great job of setting up background, tying in the previous books, and connecting to the future books in the series. This is an incredibly short read, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have depth and enough action to pack a punch. I am sad to say this is the last book in the band's part of the series, but I am definitely looking forward to the rest. Julie's story is next as she takes on a good looking competitor on a fashion reality show, then we get to read all about Andrew (Andy in this book) and his former one night stand, Becca.

I really liked the premise of this novel, the fact that these two people knew each other for years, made the plot a lot better. We don’t have any kind of insta-love here, oh no, this is a relationship three years in the making. Tara and Hector are best friends, they talk daily, they work together, they have both seen each other at their worst – through a webcam – and they even watch tv shows live with each other – internet is a blessing, right? I absolutely loved that the one completely smitten was Hector, the guys was so in love with her that he hadn’t had a relationship in a long time… The writing flowed effortlessly, so much so, that I started this book at 10pm and when I got to bed I had 65% of the book read, and the rest was done by the time my lunch break finished on the next day. I loved that this was based on San Diego Comic Con, though I could have used some more Comic Con related stuff. The plot was cute, albeit a bit predictable, but I really liked how it turned out. I really liked Tara and Hector together, though I just wanted to throw their heads together and force them to talk (really talk) to each other, because Hector was convinced that he wasn’t good enough for her and that she was still in love with her ex, and that the best thing he could do was keep her away, so he would say the dumbest things… *facepalm!*. And Tara had a couple of stupid moments herself, when she went along with the “just sex” program, when she clearly wanted more. Being a new adult book, it contains a few (like 4…) sexy and a bit explicit scenes. They are pretty hot and, being comic con and all, they may or may not involve some costumes…

ARC received for review 4.75 stars Oh my goodness. This was so stinkin' adorable. I loved everyone I met and really hate that I haven't read the first two books (well, novella and book). The missing .25 star...the ending just needed a little more, but maybe that'll happen in the next book. It's so fun that there all these made-up reality tv shows represented that I love to watch in real life.

Tara has been working on a graphic novel for the past three years. When she started her book, she shopped around online for an illustrator who could bring her characters to life and found Hector to be just the man for the job. They live across the country from each other but between emails and video chats they've become friends. So when their graphic novel comes out and it's time to promote it at comic-con, they finally get to meet in person and boy do the sparks fly. They live across the country from each other but between emails and video chats they've become friends. So when their graphic novel comes out and it's time to promote it at comic-con, they finally get to meet in person and boy do the sparks fly. Graphic novel author and the illustrator of her book who also happens to be the drummer from a semi-famous band finally meet at Comic-Con? Yes, please! I read this baby within a handful of hours. I must admit that I haven't read the previous books in the series. I stumbled across this book while cruising NetGalley and was hooked the second I saw comic-con. I was a little worried that I should have read the previous books before jumping in but I'm glad that the author wrote this book in a way that it's perfectly fine as a stand-alone. I didn't feel left out at any point. However, I think this would have been that much better had I read the previous books since I have a feeling Hector is not only in them a lot but his connection with Tara is incorporated in them as well. Since when he finally meets her, his band mates are right there welcoming her into their group. Hector was amazing. I've been wanting to read a celebrity romance and I got it without even realizing it. You see Hector's band was on a reality show similar to American Idol (this is all done in the previous book). Due to their time on the show, they not only got a lot of publicity but they are also on tour with the show and the other top contestants. So, you see, he's not just an illustrator for a graphic novel, but he's in a band that's about to make it big. He's not your typical bad-boy though. Hell, he isn't even the lead singer! He's the drummer! He hates the spotlight, doesn't like to talk to people, and has no desire to go out and sleep with groupies. Nope, he is more than content sitting alone on his computer chatting with Tara or drawing in his book. The fact that he was a big teddy bear was a breath of fresh air and I loved him for it. I absolutely hands down love the fact that this takes place at comic-con. Not only that but the author doesn't let you forget it either. The characters are on a panel (interview with a huge crowd), they go to panels, they walk the shops, they even camp out over night to get into Hall H which is one of the biggest panels that take place because it deals with the big name movies coming out. Plus, not only do they wander comic-con but the author mentions the volunteers who are assisting in keeping the lines in order and what have you. This may not seem like a big deal but this year I am FINALLY going to comic-con and my "ticket" is a volunteer badge. Yup, this girl is finally going to geek out with the best of them. So I was over the moon when the author added snippets where the volunteers were involved because that's going to be me this year! I'm not gonna lie, I pictured myself in those scenes. Okay, back to the book. This was a great story. It had everything I needed to get me out of the book funk I was in. It has characters that weren't lame and over dramatic. They didn't jump to conclusions or blow up for no apparent reason. They were adults about everything. The author didn't add any unnecessary drama to make the story interesting because the story is already awesome on its own. We go back and forth between Tara and Hector so we are never left wondering what the other one was thinking. Which was also nice since I got to see how close Hector is with his band mates. Something I really enjoyed since I know I would have felt that connection had I read the previous books, but I didn't and the yet the author was still able to cram their loyalty and friendship into this story. The only thing I can say is that I think I would have loved the story even more if I had read those books. So maybe, one day, I will go back and read Kyle and Jared's stories. Favorite part... Tara and Hector are walking around outside of Comic-Con when a couple of girls dressed as Princess Leia in her slave costume come up, gush over Hector and his band, and invite him back to their hotel room. "That was unusual. They always go for Jared, or sometimes Kyle. Never me." He removed his Villain Complex hat and shoved it into his jeans, shaking his hair out. "Not sure I like the attention." "No? I thought every guy dreamed of scantily clad women inviting him for a threesome." He pinned me with his smoldering dark eyes. "Not this guy."

Oh my goodness. Where to start?! I have been super curious about Hector’s story since I started this series. He’s always been the strong silent type and never really offered much in terms of conversation about himself or what’s going on in his life. Basically he’s a mystery. A mysterious HOT drummer. And he’s an artist. Let the swooning commence! The general feel of this book differs from the ones before it. It takes on a slightly darker feel in the sense that there’s more drama, angst and sex. None of which I am complaining about. Paired with Ms. Briggs flawless writing and story telling it all works together perfectly. So A+ from me! While this could potentially be read as a standalone I wouldn’t recommend it. You would be doing yourself a HUGE disservice to skip the first two books. So with that being said, if you haven’t’ read the prequel and book one but want to…stop reading this review…now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. More Than Comics picks up right where More Than Music left off. Unfortunately, Villain Complex did not win The Sound due to some shady backstage business conducted by the show’s producers. They were clearly a crowd favorite though, and gained a much larger following from it, so it wasn’t all for nothing. Plus they’re about to go on tour with the other contestants and do what they love most…perform! Before they can take off there’s one little matter to attend to…COMIC CON! I’ve never been but I’ve always been interested in what went on at one of these gatherings so getting to live vicariously through the characters was just awesome. Hector and his long time internet buddy Tara will be attending to host a panel on a project they’ve been working on together. Tara does the writing, and Hector does all the artwork. It works out perfectly! What neither expected was the instant attraction and connection they would feel when they finally met face to face. Their online friendship has grown so strong, but can they move out of the friend zone together and be more?? Read and find out! One thing I’ve come to really love and appreciate in this series is the diversity. The characters are unique and refreshing, they feel like real people and for me that’s an important factor when you’re trying to connect with them and become a part of the story. As I’ve mentioned in my other reviews for this series, Ms. Briggs writing is a breath of fresh air. She incorporates everything you could possibly want in a New Adult novel into her work and doesn’t rely on sex or over the top antics as filler. You can always expect good QUALITY writing from her, and for that I HIGHLY recommend all the books in this series!

More Than Comics is Hectors book in The Chasing the Dream series and although he was very much the dark knight of unknown in previous books his character truly took my breathe away in true fashion in this dual perspective narrative. More Than Comics follows a four days of Comic-Con where for the first time Hector and counterpart Tara meet face to face having had a friendship online developing a comic-book but only meeting in-person now. Hector, bless his soul was such a charmer in his ability to swoon and make Tara feel. After just breaking up with her boyfriend of a year Tara truly does go through a roller-coaster of emotions that conflict and grind to the beat of what her heart wants. Tara and Hector sizzle as a beat of chemistry ignites within them, Hector however has felt for as long as he can remember deep feelings for Tara but the question of Worth? Dream jobs? the past pain all wraps in to warm silhouette of questions. The true determent passion and chemistry within the narrative isn’t in question as this light read steps a path of finding your way to love and chemistry that is undeniable. “I never wanted to forget the way she’d looked in that moment. For a brief second I’d thought it possible she could love me back.” More Than Comics astounds a journey of finding where your heart lies in the best comical and comedic sense. Making me laugh in hysterics at times with the chemistry, the banter and the background quips from his band mates, there a million reasons for loving More Than Comics for it’s heart, it’s depth, it’s comedy and it’s steamy chemistry between Tara and Hector! 5 Comic-Con fan-frickin-tastic stars!

I've had this series on my radar for quite some time, more since starting the comic book club in school. Yes I know it's a weird reason but that is me for you :D Firstly, More Than Comics is an unbelievably quick read, I was surprised it was such a short book. Not having read the first book, More Than Music, I can honestly say it doesn't matter as the main characters are different. the cross-over points between the series are quickly recapped and explained for people like myself who are new to the series. The characters were well-rounded and a connection to them was easy to form. Although the relationship speeds along it honestly doesn't matter because the length of time Tara and Hector have known each other outweighs any thoughts of insta-anything. Hector carries quite a bit of emotional baggage stemming particularly from his mexican heritage and deportation of his parents at a young age. In all honesty I didn't fully understand his issues of abandonment and feelings of inadequacy, this did not diminish my feelings toward Hector at all. I really enjoyed the way in which the plot played out with fate stepping in to guide Tara to where she should be and what she should be doing. The importance of friends was very well portrayed within More Than Comics. Even more than the characters I think I loved the setting within ComicCon for this story - the workshops, the fans and most of all the amazing cosplay. I wish there were actual photos of the brilliant costumes described within More Than Comics. Elizabeth does an amazing job of setting the background for the other books in the series. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for this motley group of friends.

I have to be honest. I don't think I've ever read a romance before. I just always knew they were all cheesy and fake. Basically, as not-real as they can be, but exactly what women are supposed to want. Kind of like the airbrushed models in Playboy aren't real but are exactly what men are supposed to want. But this book was about comics, so, you know, I had to take the plunge. And holy crap - from the Hector and Tara's first meeting at San Diego Comic-Con (they collaborated on a comic long I have to be honest. And holy crap - from the Hector and Tara's first meeting at San Diego Comic-Con (they collaborated on a comic long distance), I was hooked. Elizabeth Briggs's writing really nails it…after the first chapter I didn't want to put it down. That was yesterday. And - I finished it today. Sure, it wasn't that long; but still, I must have enjoyed it. Ms. Briggs does a great job capturing character and dialogue - making them just real enough to be believable, and unreal enough to be step lightly over the line into fantasy. And I realize this was probably tame compared to some of the stuff that's out there, but the *ahem* steamy stuff was well-written, too. Now I have to try to resist getting caught up in the prequels and sequels of this series that involve Tara and Hector's other friends. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes romance and comics. Or just romance. Or just comics. I thought it was worth reading. Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for a copy in return for an honest review.

Throw in the angst of an ex and this book has all the elements needed to keep you eagerly turning the pages. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

There was a lot of telling, not showing and while the general idea of SDCC was captured pretty well, it seemed that the convention just faded away. It was a cardboard prop instead of a 3D setting. I kept reading because I was interested to see how it all ended; however, I wish it would have been a little more fleshed out. **Huge thanks to Victory Editing and NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

More Than Comics combines some of my favorite things in life: Comic Con, rockstars, and NA Romance. When Elizabeth Briggs wove these three themes into one story, the outcome is perfection. When Elizabeth Briggs wove these three themes into one story, the outcome is perfection. More Than Comics is the second book in the Chasing the Dream series and focuses on Hector, the drummer from Villain Complex, and Tara, a comic book writer. When he and Tara meet for the first time in person after three years of working together on their comic, Misfit Squad, there is an instant connection that cannot be denied. But the real question is if this can work in real life or if they are destined to be friends from a distance connected by technology. First off, the characters. I loved our two main characters. There personalities were spot on and their chemistry was on fire. Tara is such an exuberant young woman, one who embraces her dreams and chases them with everything she has. She is passionate about her work and embraces every chance she has to take it further. Hector is an introspective, responsible man and his emotional depth is deep and true. He may be the drummer of a rock band but that is only a fraction of who he is. He is a friend, artist, and family man. These two have been friends for years and when the sparks fly upon their first in person meeting, you know that this connection will be good! I loved seeing the other members from the Villain Complex filter in and out of the story. They added some fun and flair to what was happening, creating a world that is founded on friendship and deep relationships. Second, the world of More Than Comics. I have a bucket list and on that bucket list (number 13) is to go to Comic Con. This is a world that most people on the planet have heard of and one that I have dreamt about for years. So to read a well written book set in the world of Comic Con, that was the best of the best! Elizabeth opens the readers eyes to this world and shows us the behind the scenes workings of the convention through the signings and the fact that Hector and Tara are on panels and signings, as well as the side that most people are on, the participant side, with the parties and the expos. You read about the incredible costumes, blow out parties, celebrities, and so many pop culture references that will make you happy! This setting is a refreshing world to read about and that pushed this book into the brilliant category for me! Last is the romance. This romance was perfect. I have never read a story where the characters knew each other for so long from afar before meeting and the spark igniting. It was refreshing. Hector and Tara had been in love with each other for years, whether they admitted to it or not, and the moment they meet it is deeper and their connection is tangible. The relationship has it’s hardships like any other, but their friendship and working relationship made it a natural transition. They shared things with each other things that no else knew and they noticed the small things that no one else would take the time to notice. This story had the perfect amount of angst and growing pains as their relationship transitioned from friends to more. The passion was hot and their love was sweet! This is a book you will not want to miss. It is part of a series, but you can read it as a standalone! More Than Comics will steal your heart like a masked bandit and leave you with an abundance of laughs, sighs, and smiles! Hector and Tara are perfect and this story is refreshingly fun and beautiful!

Tara and Hector have shared a great deal as they've worked together online and their friendship means a great deal to both of them. But Hector has had feelings for Tara for years, holding off on telling her because she's always had a boyfriend. Will these two be able to collaborate on their own love story or are they destined to remain just friends? Tara McFadden is excited to be at this year's Comic Con, and while she's a tad nervous about being part of the panel that'll be talking about and fielding questions regarding Misfit Squad, she's more anxious about meeting Hector Fernandez. They've become very dear and close friends over the past few years they've known one another and from the time she saw his artwork, she knew that no other artist would do as her partner on Misfit Squad, the graphic novel that's built a loyal and still growing following from comic fans. Hector Fernandez has been wanting to meet Tara McFadden for years and now he's finally got his opportunity to do so. He's been in love for so long but he doesn't believe that Tara would ever reciprocate his feelings so he keeps them to himself, only confessing to his best friend and band mate. When he finds out that she's ended things with her boyfriend, Hector wonders if he's ready to grab the opportunity to show Tara how much she means to him and how she's the only girl he's wanted to be with since they met. Over the next four days, Hector and Tara give in to their mutual attraction but can't help but wonder if this is a fun fling or if this could be the beginning of something much more. Hector lives in LA and Tara's about to move to New York to start a new job. When Tara receives two offers, one professional, the other personal, Hector refuses to stand in the way of what he believes she truly wants. But will it be too late for broken hearts to heal when they realize how deep and real their actual feelings are for one another? More Than Comics is the second book but third release in the Chasing the Dream series by Elizabeth Briggs. I was able to read and review both the prequel and the first book, both of which I gave four-star ratings to, and I must say that this latest installment is my favorite so far. ^.^ I liked the idea of the lead characters meeting and then developing a friendship online and that they had affection, trust, and respect for each other, highlighting that relationships can flourish even without the initial physical contact. I liked that the characters here, both the main and the supporting, were geeks and showed that geeks are cool, since there are some who think the opposite. There was a good amount of sweetness and steam in this book and I'm glad that Hector finally got his story told. The man has been quite an enigma since the prequel and he seriously needed his time in the spotlight, so thank you, Elizabeth Briggs. ^.^ More Than Comics was so much more than I was expecting, which always a good thing, and it gets 4.5 stars, rounded off to five stars for Goodreads! ♥ Release Date: 23 February 2015

I finished this book in less than 24 hours... I know it's a 239 page book but that's still impressive! First off let me state that I got this book from NetGalley for an honest and when I first saw it I thought you know it could be interesting because it's about comics how bad could it be? And I'm GLAD I DID!!!!!! If you have read the manga Dramacon this is similar to that (Kinda) except this is about writers and artists instead of writers and hat sellers. So the story is that Tara and Hector who work on a graphic novel (or manga they weren't really clear about which) and they have great success with the novel but they haven't met before the Comic Con (Yes Comic Con the heaven for nerds where we all want to go) but they have been video chatting for three years and when they meet they hit it off! This novel had me laughing and it had me almost crying at the quote in the first couple of pages after they meet. I felt like I was highlighting every single page in my Kindle it was SO AMAZING! I am super sad that I have to wait for the next one to come out! :( Quick thing though you don't have to read the first book (But I'm going to be buying it on Amazon it's $.99) More than Music to keep up with the book however I feel like I was missing a few cool things in the novel that I wish I was in the inside loop to get. Their was a tiny issue that I had with the novel: So he is from LA and she is going to NYC and their is a complication of long distance becoming an issue. So, in about in the fourth of fifth chapter their was an offer to get a different job in, you guessed it LA, I thought it was a super easy answer however I did love how she decided on which job to choose.

Hector's been secretly nursing his love for the lovely Tara for as long as he can remember, and then they meet, Tara she sees him in a new light. And all these years of longing and needing lead to an incredible raw and passionate night in each others arms, after one of his concerts, but are either of them sure if their online relationship can work into a real life romance and everlasting love. or will this passion ruin their friendship for good. Over four amazing and crazy days at Comic-Con, Hector and Tara must decide if they want forever together. But when their story seems to be over and done with, it’s up to Hector’s band to make sure these two get their happy ending they both deserve. I loved this book from beginning to end i so could not put this down that's how fabulous it was, This is second book in Elizabeth's fantastic series but you can also read it as a stand alone, but be assured you do not want to miss any part of this series. I adored the whole concept of the book the way it was written and set out, the sex scenes made me burn alive they were hot raunchy and everything you wanted in a romance book, I fell in love with Hector he was such a sweetie pie and full of love to give to Tara. A favourite part of my book was. I was a dark cloud and she was a ray of sunshine that somehow managed to break through. Maybe that's why id been in love with her for as long as i could remember. " You are one naughty girl", he said giving me a long, thorough kiss before gently tossing me on the bed. " But how is this fair "? I haven't had a chance to play with you yet. Wowza i was fanning myself reading this hector is everything you want in a man and more hes multi talented. I cant say anything i did not love in this maybe an epilogue would have been nice but then again am greedy as i always want more in books i read. Amazing book well done Elizabeth i think i love you :) 5 Out of 5 Hearts From Cariad Books

She’s talented, out-going and beautiful. She liked him – but she had to be realistic. They both live on the separate side of the country – if she gave in to it, would it extend more than just the COMICON? WHO IN THE WORLD IS THE CHIC HERE? I don’t know if it’s adorable or irritating. But Hector’s shyness – arghh. He might be uber-hot on stage, and have great talents with his drums and sticks, but when it comes to her, he turns shy. And a little bit putty. I wished that he had the same confidence on stage as he has in front of her. Well, when he finally had that confidence, he uses it to dig his own grave and says something completely crazy. What in the world are you saying to her???!!!! Their chemistry is undeniable and overwhelming, they were totally meant for each other if we took all those crazy insecurities they have instilled in themselves. I enjoyed reading this story – I like the romance, the sexy scenes and even the characters that might be a little frustrating and annoying at times, and I thought they’d never see what’s in front of them – but the ending was totally worth it. Love can move mountains, and no matter what the distance, what the differences are – if you are meant to be, there is nothing anyone can do about it. After years of knowing each other only online, they finally meet at Comic-Con, while promoting their comics. Sparks fly, albeit shy sparks. I am not much for the shy type, but Hector got me. He doesn’t like the spotlight but he would endure anything for Tara. He lacks in confidence but he’s good at faking it on stage. I loved how he wasn’t a bit tempted by groupies, his eyes were only for Tara. But he would never admit his affections, which was frustrating but kept me reading. Tara is more outgoing and has her life planned out. But once she lays eyes on Hector, things in her life don’t seem as perfect. Because being with Hector is now what makes her happy. If only Hector would man up and sweep Tara off her feet. They both try to be realistic, being that Hector lives in LA and Tara is heading to another state for a new job. But chemistry is a fickle bitch. I loved watching these two fall in love. There was an awkward beginning but by the end they fit really well together. It was fun getting a glimpse of Comic-Con too. I have yet to have the pleasure of going, but I know I have to one day. The Bad The ending was fine, but on the dramatic side. The Snuggly Loved Hector and Tara together. We get some good sex, but I wanted more! But I’m a pervert so I might be the only one that felt this way. It was probably enough for NA. Final Thoughts I loved this book. Great, diverse characters and a sweet love story. Who could ask for more? Very recommended. Quotes “That was unusual. They always go for Jared, or sometimes Kyle. Never me.” He removed his Villain Complex hat and shoved it into his jeans, shaking his hair out. “Not sure I like the attention.” “No? I thought every guy dreamed of scantily clad women inviting him for a threesome.” He pinned me with his smoldering dark eyes. “Not this guy.” “I never wanted to forget the way she’d looked in that moment. For a brief second I’d thought it possible she could love me back.”

There was nothing wrong with the characters, but their voices weren't distinctive at all. There were more than just a few moments when I had to simply stop and go back to identify whose chapter that was. To me, Hector and Tara sounded like the same person. But voice problem aside, their friends-to-more love story was very sweet. They were good people. You know the kind you look and say: these people deserve to be happy because they're good? Well, Tara and Hector were just like that. I thought Tara handed the situation with her ex boyfriend properly. There was no cheating or playing games. She didn't use him to make Hector jealous or the other way around. She didn't lead the ex on. I admired her for that. And Hector also had a great heart. He acted a bit stupid here and then, which was okay because guys can be dense sometimes. *winks* But he respected Tara and was a good friend to her. I also liked that the author wrote actor as a Latino guy without the stereotype, which was really refreshing. P.S.: Tara, I'm with you on men speaking Spanish being sexy. ;-) As to the setting, I wish we'd gotten to see more of that. Comic-Con is a huge event, and I don't think the book explored it as well. I definitely missed a better sense of place. Overall, this was a great read and the author got me excited about the next one, because REALITY TV!!!!

I could relate with Hector and could really understand why he is hesitant to show Tara how he really feels, why he's afraid to commit. I also really liked Tara and could understand her feelings as well. She just came out of a serious relationship, and is starting a job in a new town. A new relationship on top of that might be a bit much. I love how her doubts and the solution of her problems are handled. It's easy to go the 'love will solve everything' route in a romance like this, but luckily Briggs didn't take such an easy way out. I loved the setting of course: a big comic convention!!! So next to enjoying the hot and intense romance I also got to geek out over Comic-Con and the mentions of comics and movies. The characters of the previous books make their appearance as well, and it was fun to see how they were doing. The main characters of the upcoming books had some screentime as well, and I'm curious about their story I will confess. All in all this is a delicious read, and I'll definitely will be rereading it. But first I'll be reading Future Threat, the second book in Briggs' YA trilogy, and I'll be getting my hands on the other books in this series

Though you wouldn't be able to tell, the seemingly stoic Hector is nervous, too. He's about to meet the girl whom he's been in love with for the past three years. And seeing Tara in person is even more amazing than he had ever imagined. When he discovers that Tara's just broken up with her longtime boyfriend, Hector wonders if he should make a move. And then the two end up clinching, then having sex, and he's scared out of his mind--they live on opposite coasts, how can they ever have a relationship? Not much plot-wise keeping these two apart, just a lot of running hot and cold, on both Tara and Hector's parts. Should Hector risk his sensitive heart and declare his feelings for Tara? Should Tara take the amazing job offer just sprung on her, especially because it would mean moving to LA, where Hector lives? Or should she go to New York, to the job she's always dreamed of, working as a comic book editor? Thumbs up for having Tara decide based on her own desires, rather than only on her desire for Hector.

Though, he isn't open with his feelings towards his friends, I understand where he's coming from; his back story was utterly sad. Sometimes I was so frustrated with his decisions (same with Tara though). I think she was a decent and likeable character, but Hector just stands out more in my opinion. Moreover, I absolutely adored all of the friendships in here, whether it is f/f, m/m or f/m. The Comic Con and supermarket scenes were so hilarious! This book tackles a lot of diversity issues around the publishing industry. That's why Tara decided for her comics to be based on diverse characters (poc, queer, disabled, overweight) who are outcasts and not your typical superheroes. I definitely appreciate this important aspect of the book. Binge-reading this series is so much fun (the books are really fast to read). I've heard great things about the next book so I can't wait to pick it up!

See more of my reviews on my blog Thoughts At One In The Morning. My Thoughts: I've been wanting to read something by Elizabeth Briggs for awhile now. I fell for Hector and Tara's story almost immediately. Two online friends meeting in person for the first time? Sounds like a pretty awesome start to a romance. Hector has been in love with her for a long time, but she doesn't have those feelings about him until they actually meet in real life. You can sense it blossoming as you continue to read, and it draws you in more. Tara gets offered an opportunity of a lifetime--one that could keep her near Hector. But when Tara runs into her ex, it threatens to throw a wrench in her life and Hector's. Will they be able to figure out what's next? More Than Comics is a sweet, romantic story! I loved the setting surrounding Comic-Con. I want to go there someday and now I really want to get there after reading this book. The love story between Hector and Tara is lovely and their chemistry is hot. And all the other characters intrigued me enough to make me want to get my hands on the rest of the books in this series. Definitely want to read more by Elizabeth Briggs. My Rating: Very Good

That until they had to present their graphic comic, Misfit Squad, at the nerd paradise, yes, people, at the Comic-Con! At the beginning, things between them is a little awkward, because they like each other, but Tara doesn't want to acknowledge it, and Hector is afraid that he's the only with those feelings and doesn't want to ruin their friendship. But like I said before, the chemistry between them is always there, and is very tangible. So on those three days at the Comic-Con, we see how their relationship develops, Tara meets Hector's friends, and all the madness that group is. Elizabeth is an amazing author who catch the readers from the very first page, never making the story tedious. Hector Fernandez is my favourite character of the series so far!

I was sent a copy of this book via NetGalley to review. This book intrigued me because it was set in Comic Con. I am a Comic Con goer myself. I also cosplay so I thought this book would be interesting, because I had never read a book that was set in Comic Con before. I did not read the first book in the 'Chasing The Dream' series and have no interest reading the others in the series since they are set in a different location. Although this was the second book in the series I had no problem I was sent a copy of this book via NetGalley to review. This book intrigued me because it was set in Comic Con. Although this was the second book in the series I had no problem understanding anything in the book. It could have easily been a stand alone book. This book is a NEW ADULT book. Normally I read Young Adult books so it was nice to get into a NA book. This book was great and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Tara and Hector's relationship. I highly recommend this for someone who loves romance books, New Adult books, and Comic Con.
