Hey guys! I'm sorry that I don't have a pub date yet. My goal is October 5th, but things often change, so we'll have to see how kind the writing muse is to me! <3 As for Turner and Naomi, they will definitely be in the book, but they'll also have another book later in the series as well. We're not done with them yet! =) We just need Ronnie and Lola to explain some things for us...

Nothing describe characters in this series better than following quote: "We're an unconventional group of assholes" I love this series, I really do. Crazy messed-up characters once again guaranteed amazing unconventional show for me as a reader. Even though we didn't get all answer and new questions emerged, I found this book fascinating. But even though I loved the wicked plot, I wasn't the biggest fan of romance between Ronnie and Lola (personal reasons). I just can't 100% enjoy story in which Nothing describe characters in this series better than following quote: "We're an unconventional group of assholes" I love this series, I really do. I just can't 100% enjoy story in which one of the main characters cannot get over his/her "one, true love". But otherwise, this series is freaking rocking it! "Music's an extension of the soul and right now, mine's not sitting stagnant, steeping in shit. It's out there touching every single person here, brushing along the fringes of humanity and taking their emotions as souvenirs." A MUST-READ FOR ALL FANS OF THIS SERIES! I'm so, soo disappointed in this book. This review pains me to write because I love CM's writing but this one just didn't work for me at all. The first two in this series I really enjoyed.. the characters have flaws a mile long but that was okay, it made them then. Lola and Ronnie in this book though.. they made me feel a little sick. I am all for flawed characters who have issues.. being a man whore, a drug addict, in to their drink.. you have to kind of expect it when you are reading a book I'm so, soo disappointed in this book. I am all for flawed characters who have issues.. being a man whore, a drug addict, in to their drink.. you have to kind of expect it when you are reading a book about Rock stars. But fuckadoodle.. this was.. outrageous. Ronnie was not attractive in the slightest. Who the hell wants to read about a guy who has kids all over the place, has had STD's and doesn't mind shooting up drugs when said kid/s are in the same room. DISGUSTING. And Lola.. I didn't get her. At all. The story was written in such a way that it took me until I was past the half way mark until I finally recognised where the story was going and what Lola's part in the story was. Until that point I wasn't interested and I simply just didn't like her. As for her eventual relationship with Ronnie, I didn't buy it at all. Apparently in these Rock groups it's impossible for them to have proper relationships, and this one seemed to be the worst of the lot. There was no connection there at all, in my opinion. And not once did they ever reach the point, for me, where I could say.. 'yeah, they're meant to be together, I can see the love', it didn't work. The only way I could think to describe them and their relationship is a little wacko and a lot grimy. Whilst reading, I couldn't tell you the amount of times I had my eyes rolling at the story line. Too much of it was unbelievable. I know part of reading is to get you out of your comfort zone and your reality, but at the same time I need to be able to believe in what I'm reading. That didn't happen here. From the first two books we know there is some crazy killer on the run and people are dying left, right and centre but I found I didn't even care. And once again, the story ends on a cliffhanger. Thanks to said killer. I don't mind a cliffhanger, but I just felt like 80% of this story was beyond ridiculous. I won't give up on the series.. yet. The next book is back to being about the original characters so maybe I'll finally enjoy the series again but we'll see. All I know is this one was far too much of a disappointment. *ARC provided to the The Hopeless Romantics Book Blog in turn for an honest review.*

Stunich wrote the hell out of Ron’s character. He was truly gritty, sad and I was cheering for him the whole book. (Loved Ron taking his shirt off to fight lol.) While Lola and Ron get to know each other, bad things happen to Ron’s family. These bad things stir Ron to take notice and start to wake up… ”This is my last chance to get things right…” Ron starts to see that there is more to living than his self-inflicted hell which stems from the loss of his first love. ”I want to stop planning my funeral and start planning my fucking wedding. I want to find a girl who thinks I’m worth something and fall in love again.” Once again, the plot thickens with murder, stardom and I’m still not loving this whole side of the story (seriously what tour would continue?) The ring leader, Tyler Rutledge is revealed… Honestly, I still don’t get the need for all the mystery and murder. For me, the characters are kick ass on their own, the stage performances are written off the charts!! I’m hoping that someday they will all have heas? This book does indeed end with a cliffhanger so on to the next.

HOLY SHIT, This one is about Ronnie!!!!!!!!! SPOILERS BELOW CHAPTER ONE RONNIE MCGUIRE What a fucking idiot. I'm sitting at my kit watching one of best friends hop around the stage like he's gone completely mental. There's blood leaking from the wound in his thigh, staining the white bandages and drawing little gasps from his throat between verses that the crowd actually seems to like. They're diggin' this tortured, wounded bad boy schtick. Me, not so much. “Dumb ass,” I growl out under my breath, HOLY SHIT, This one is about Ronnie!!!!!!!!! They're diggin' this tortured, wounded bad boy schtick. Me, not so much. “Dumb ass,” I growl out under my breath, slamming my sticks so hard I'm pretty damn sure one of the fuckers is going to snap right in half. Wouldn't be the first time. Anyway, this shit is getting stale. I'd like to move onto the next town, please and thank you. But no. No. Stupid ass cops think holding us here while they investigate shit is going to help. Why can't they just book Katie Rhineback and be done with it? It isn't like a good two dozen people are eyewitnesses to her brother's murder. Guess the dead cop they found in the woods spooked 'em. “Battered and broken, bleeding for you.” I follow up Turner's hook with some backup vocals. I hate backup vocals. Shit. “Bleeding for you.” My friend tilts his head back, letting his shades slip down his sweaty face. From the shadows, I'm pretty sure I can see a hint of Naomi Knox, arms crossed over her chest, lips twitching somewhere between love and irritation. Yup. That's the honest truth right there. Those two have it, whether they know it or fucking not. Forgive me, Asuka, but these stupid fuckers make me want to fall in love again. Doubt I'm going to find someone in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma though. “Why can't I forget you? It's not like I want to, but, baby, call me crazy. I cannot move on.” Jesus, I hate this friggin' song. The day Turner wrote it, I almost socked him in the face. I know he was trying to help, but to be honest with you, it just kind of makes things worse. Even all these years later. Even after all these fucking years. I can still see Asuka's smile, still hear her voice, still feel her body brushing against mine, soft and perfect. My love, my one, true love. I smash my cymbals and kiss the sound with a spin of my sticks. I'm no Gene Krupa, stirring up dixieland or any of that shit, but I'm alright. I hit my solo running with a double bass beat and tune out the audience like I always do. Turner might eat that crap with a spoon, but I'm happy back here, cloaked in shadows, worshiped but forgotten. That works for me. It's been a long, long time since I've had the desire to be the center of attention.

Tough Luck was fast paced filled action and BAM, finally we have more of our answers and also more questions!! And we meet Roonie and Lola as the main characters. I am so in love in Turner and Naomi, hence a, dying to get pass this book to grab Bad Day next! All the cliff-hangers in this series, made me little speechless, I have never read any series before this with so much of painful waiting moments! *whispers* Yeah, now that Bad Day is out, there wouldn't be much pain, you can say that Tough Luck was fast paced filled action and BAM, finally we have more of our answers and also more questions!! Why did I start this series before it ended properly? Well, I thought it ended in Born Wrong!!!!!! Roonie is our darling drummer and lives with broken heart when he lost his love. He has been surviving and then Lola enters. The thing with Lola is I don't like her at all. I felt that Roonie doesn't deserve someone like her. To start his relationship with deception and the attitude that she carries doesn't really fit well! Now, I am excited with start Bad Day with Lucia, eeeek Happy reading D xo

5 Seriously Fucked Up Stars OK, so this is going to be one of the most rambling, crazy reviews I've ever done because - seriously this book & the whole series are just too crazy, awesome to make any sense. So I will start by saying that I freaking LOVE the writing style of C.M Stunich. She has a way of taking the most disturbing, dirty, questionable things and turning them into absolute poetry. Perhaps it's because these books centre around a group of musicians and a lot of the inner dialogue relates to that musicality. Regardless of how or why - the whole series has taken on a creative life of it's own (in my mind). There was a huge portion of this book where I was completely in the dark as to what the hell was going on. But in a good way. The mystery & who-done-it vibe has carried on from the first book. Plus, knowing that our characters are also mostly in the dark really helps to put the reader at the same level - the ability to empathize with them is doubled because of this. When I started this book I had some trepidation about leaving the Naomi & Turner love/hate-fest & looking into another set of character pov's. But I honestly loved Ronnie McGuire. He is so broken and messed up. It's heart-wrenching and sad to see him in his spiral of self-loathing and abuse. Watching him start to patch himself back together was one of the best parts of this book, hands down. I wasn't an insta-fan of Lola Saints. She came across as someone with no direction or morals what-so-ever. But then, suddenly you see that she too is just messed up from life & trying to cope in a really bad way. Her strength to tell the truth and her crazy head-first fall into love with Ronnie redeemed her (for me) - and I found myself really loving her by the end of the book. Let's not forget about the mind-bending sex! Despite the fact that I've been living in a literal blizzard for more than a week, I found myself constantly turning down the temperature in my house. Cold? This book will certainly cure that problem. There was one scene near the end that almost did me in ... I'm no prude, but I wasn't sure if I could handle it ... seriously, disturbingly hot! I can't express how amazing I think these books are. So gritty, dirty and raw. I love that they don't gloss over any of the real ugly truths of life. If you haven't read them yet - get to it! I'm anxious to move on to Bad Day. It's coming up soon on my tbr list.

WOW! I completely forgot how insanely fun and demented this series is! It took me a minute or two to reconnect with the band members and to get into the groove of their mayhem...but once I was reacquainted it was a full throttle ride! While I will freely admit that I read purely for Turner and Naomi, I did enjoy this little side story. Ronnie always was so damn sad...he really needed a good love story and what Lola Saints gave him was a bit of light in his sad f****'d up life, lol...well if you WOW! This dad of 4 (with 4 different women)is getting up close and personal with his babies as their mommas keep ending up dead! In a twisted game of sabotage and rock star mayhem a little drummer on the rise is sitting in the middle of the chaos. Is Lola really a saint or pure sinner? The only thing for sure is that she has Ronnie feeling the love again! ALso, you MUST read Real Ugly and Get Bent first...if not you will find yourself drinking heavily and wandering what the hell is going on! Just like prior books, there is no end...just a big bloody cliffhanger of gunshots...seriously CM Stunich...you never give me a conclusion with a pretty bow, but again that is why I love your darkness!

Maybe these characters will get a little lucky and it will be a sweet read. Since this isn't Turner or Naomi's book, it's going to be lighter and happy. BULLSHIT. Yup, there are no unicorns shitting rainbows or leprechauns frolicking in the clovers singing lullabies. There are junkies getting high in the corner, men and women having sex on the dinner table smearing their juices all over the place your mom eats her dinner. There are drunks throwing up all over the petunias in the garden and pissing in the rose bushes. "Love is selfish. Period. End of sentence" This isn't your grandma's kind of book. CM Stunich doesn't do Grandmas and ponies. She does fucking hardcore and that's why I love her. She doesn't pussy foot around, she gives you what you want and leaves you wanting so much more. She makes you want to turn into some drugged up rock star. I want to be LOLA and NAOMI. I want TURNER and RONNIE in my bed tonight. FUCK. One word is all that is needed for the book. FUCKETY FUCK FUCK FUCK. I am sorry if I offend any of you reading this book. But that word is all that I can say when I try and think about this book. Ronnie is a fucked up mess. He is the ideal rock star and doesn't give a shit about anything. He has a broken heart and just wants to get his dick wet. "He's a bad boy in all the worst ways, a real bad boy. Ronnie's not some jersey wearing pussy fuck sauntering around with a few tattoos and a lip ring, riding a bike his trust fund bought him. He is really and truly messed up" Lola stark is on a mission and she can't stray from the path that has been chosen for her. She is a smart mouthed bitch and doesn't take shit from anyone. "That's how Lola looks to me right now. A broken pretty, a shattered beautiful, something that could cut a person up and leave them in pieces, something that they'd go crawling back to, bloody and begging for more" But this is as much their story as it is Naomi and Turner's. They show up a lot in this book. I love those 2. The banter between the two of them is down right amazing. But Ronnie and Lola are right up there with them now. The shit that comes out of Lola's mouth is hilarious. I want to be as clever and snarky as her. I feel dirty after reading some of the scenes. I feel like I need to take a bath and wash off the sex. But before I wash it off, I want to be that dirty. She makes me want to print this out, highlight the scenes, give it to my husband and say "Hey Babe, lets playing a little game tonight. I'll be Lola and you be Ronnie" "Fuck me swinging" "Little Lola has been to know to like her dirty talk. RAWR" "Play me like one of your drums" In the end, you are left hung over, mouth tasting like ass, track marks all up and down your arms and smelling like ass. You ask yourself why did I do this to myself again? Why must I read her books knowing that she can't end a book the way most authors do? Does she even know what a HEA is? FUCK. That's what you will say at the end of this book. It's like a car crash. We all don't want to see what happened, but why the fuck do we all slow down? Why do we roll our windows down, stick our heads out like we are fucking dogs and look? We have to see the carnage, the blood, the poor people lying on the side of the road. WE CAN NOT LOOK AWAY! If you read books with your heart, STOP. This book isn't a book you read with your heart, you read with your soul. It's the only way. If the devil were to ask me if I would sell him my soul, I would tell him to ask CM Stunich for it because she owns it. Read this book. Read this series. I don't give a rats ass if you don't read books because of cliffhangers. This book will eat you up, spit you out and shit on you. But you will love it. It will make you a sick fucked up drug whore, but join the club. I wouldn't want it any other way.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants, cussing (sometimes I cannot help myself) and a possible full on recap. I in no way want to ruin anyone’s book reading experience so please read my words with caution. I barely survived the first two books.. I'm not entirely pleased that book 3 is about Ronnie. Yes I know that our favorite fucked up pair - Turner and Naomi - will be present, but it's not the same. Call me greedy but I DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants, cussing (sometimes I cannot help myself) and a possible full on recap. Call me greedy but I rather like being in Turner and Naomi's heads. I'm looking for answers and I'm guessing I will get some and then a fuck load more questions will rise. I'm along for the ride. The story opens back up with the bands stuck in Oklahoma City. Apparently a dead cop was found in the woods and they aren't sure it was Katie who did it. They finish another show and 28 year old Ronnie McGuire runs into 22 year old Lola Saints. She appears to know him but he can't exactly remember her. She is from Australia and is a member of Ice and Glass. I keep forgetting they're not the only two bands on the tour.. The fuck. Who wants Indecency and Amatory Riot all dead and buried? Who is Cohen Rose and Tyler Rutledge? I don't like the fact that Ronnie is Lola's target.. or that she even has a target at all. We all know Ronnie is damaged, does lots of drugs to try and numb himself from losing his first and only love. He has four kids from four different women. Maybe Lola is just what Ronnie needs. I mean a lot of what's going on is not always what we think.. The fuck. One of Ronnie's kids was just found in Milo's bed covered in blood. Her mother was killed and the body was found in Milo's room too. Lola knew it was happening just not yet. She apparently killed someone too. This is so connected to everything. Lola takes Ronnie outside to cheer him up even though he's her target and she's supposed to destroy him. Ronnie hears his dead soulmate's, Asuka, voice in his head. It's all very weird. Lydia, his red haired daughter thinks Turner is her daddy. Whoa. Lola wore the mask to kill the roadie and took Naomi.. She also mailed Travis' hat. There's a few answers. She knows Naomi is smart and actually fears her so that's something. Turner is not doing so hot with his gunshot. They are in freaking Wichita and Lola wants to confess to Ronnie. Oh fuck. Shannon is dead and Ronnie's baby Phoebe is enroute. Katie is pregnant with Eric's baby.. Yikes. Kill Turner and Naomi that's the end game.. What in the ever fucking love was that ending?! Cliffhanger – that's some fucked up shit (book 3 of series) POV - Ronnie and Lola

***I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review*** This is the 3rd book in the series and may contain spoilers from books 1 & 2. We suggest reading those prior to reading this review. Let me first start off by saying CM Stunich is evil in the best way possible! She is the queen of evil cliffhangers that have me counting down to the release of the next book in the series. I should have known this already, but was once again caught off guard! I love how raw and real her books are. They aren’t some romantic love story with hearts and flowers. No they are heart gripping, raw, down right nasty books that I CAN NOT get enough of! I actually really like Ronnie’s character. I started opening my heart to him in book 2 and I was not disappointed in this book! Lola came in and blew my world apart in Tough Luck. So many questions were answered, yet so many are still left to the imagination. I am anxiously awaiting more Turner and Naomi in the next book, but would strongly recommend this series to anyone looking for a series that will have your mouth hanging open, you gripping your kindle, and laughing yourself silly!! ~Mags http://whopickedthis.wordpress.com

And another cliffy! The next book is already out so it is not bothering me as much as in the last 2 previous books. This book was also sweeter than the first 2 for some reason. Now do not get me wrong, this is still just as raw, crude and fucked up as before, but I enjoyed Ronnie's vulnerability and personality. The killer is still out there, but we gain some additional knowledge in this installment and things are starting to come together. On to book 4 which I am sure will be another cliffy

I'm weak for these books I think. I hate the main character, Lola, dislike her, dislike the people she's around, dislike the circumstances, dislike it all, but still, I loved this book. LOL dunno why, just do. This one is Ronnie's story, and Lola, one of the other bands on tour's drummer. In case anyone isn't aware, I just don't like Lola at all. I just don't.

This series gets better and better! Written from Ronnie and Lola's POV, you will be shocked at the things that happen in this latest book of the Hard Rock Roots series. This another one of those series you can't stop reading.

I really like this series but I am so disappointed in the direction the author took with Ronnie' s love interest. Lola went beyond just being messed up, she was part of unforgivable acts. I just can't get pasted that. All the other characters are Awesome!!

When I started this series, I never could have thought that I'd end up so invested. I was kinda nervous for this book though, since it would focus on other characters, but it turned out that there was absolutely no reason to be nervous. Stunich does what she does best: She tells an awesome story of flawed and broken characters. Lola and Ronnie are clearly different from Naomi and Turner, but it's also refreshing to read the story from a different point of view. Stunich does what she does best: She tells an awesome story of flawed and broken characters. Lola and Ronnie are clearly different from Naomi and Turner, but it's also refreshing to read the story from a different point of view. Especially because Naomi and Turner were both kinda intense, where Ronnie and Lola are a little less dramatic. But, it's also refreshing because Lola comes with loads and loads of answers. Answers and more new problems. What I love about Ronnie and Lola is that they're both really flawed. They made mistakes and they both know they're far from good people. It's easier to root for flawed people when they know they're flawed, when they also have to learn to love themselves again. Especially for Lola that's hard after everything she has done and played a part in. But watching her grow and learn and gather courage is wonderful! We've seen much more from Ronnie in the previous books, but being in his head is quite an experience. I don't think I've met this many characters who are so broken and layered and complicated. He has a lot to deal with, a past to let go of and responsibilities to accept. It's quite easy to understand why people like him though. Because there's this side of him that tries, that's really willing to change, one step at a time. The plot is also really moving forward in this book. We get loads of answers, although we don't get many solutions yet. And just like the previous two books the book ends with this huge cliffhanger that makes it hard not to read on right away. I can't wait to dive into the next book and to see what has happened and what is going to happen. Because the game is getting more and more dangerous.

RONNIE AND LOLA I had a hard time getting through this book. While I have empathy for Ronnie, if he manages to slam drugs, screw anything that gets close and crawl backwards into himself why couldn't he get some GRIT. Especially when his 3 year old daughter comes into his life? And how could he keep letting her think Turner is her daddy? Don't even get me started on that lower than low, filthy murdering bitch Lola and I am only at 50%. - - - I had to keep reading to see what happens next. Lola slightly redeemed herself but just damn!!!!! Ronnie is struggling and Turner is still Turner (thank God).

This review originally appeared on BrizzleLass Books. Ronnie is the drummer in Turners band Indecency and Lola drums for one of the support bands Ice and Glass, we learn so much more about the evil plot in this book thanks to Lola who has been a part of it but jumps ship to join the good guys. These two are about as fucked up as any character I’ve read of C.M. Stunich yet and she writes them so well you can’t help but to adore the hell out of them.
